    Shampnoi Esq Director at Large Denise Shaw Esq Director at Large The following Board Members continue their terms NOT up for re election Mary Jo Eyster Secretary Lisa Grace Cohen Director at Large Jeff Thompson Director at Large Steven A Yadegari Esq Immediate Past President Frank J Scardilli Esq Honorary Life Time Board Member The Rev Chloe Breyer Executive Director The Interfaith Center of New York Joining the Interfaith Center of New York in 2007 Chloe has helped implement ICNY s mission to bring together grassroots religious leaders with civic officials to address the city s most pressing social concerns New programs include Training Religious Leaders in Domestic Violence Prevention 2010 and Catholic Muslim Community Development Initiative 2010 that gave rise to innovative programs in preventing domestic violence sharing food pantry best protocols and renovating houses of worship throughout the city She has also initiated the James Parks Morton International Visiting Fellows that sent delegations of interfaith leaders to New York City Barcelona Spain and Glasgow Scotland to exchange best practices and encourage joint reflection between different religious communities and between these communities and civil society In addition to existing partnerships with the New York Unified Court System the New York Public Library Catholic Charities of New York and UJA Federation ICNY has recently become part of the One NYC One Nation Initiative of the New York Community Trust and the Mayor s Office of Immigrant Affairs Chloe is an Episcopal Priest in the Diocese of New York serving as Associate Minister at St Mary s Episcopal Church in West Harlem From 2000 2003 she founded and directed the Cathedral Forums on Religion and Public Life at the Cathedral of St John the Divine Following 9 11 2001 she worked with the Diocese of New York on an interfaith initiative

    in order to attend Registration is closed The Association for Conflict Resolution of Greater New York and The CUNY Dispute Resolution Consortium at John Jay College Monthly NYC DR Roundtable Breakfast Stephen Kotev Effective Ways of Dealing with Stress Somatic Skills for Conflict Resolvers Based upon soma the Greek word for the body somatic skills focuse on developing the physical skills necessary to manage more effectively the physiological stress experienced during conflict situations Conflict resolvers are taught verbal de escalation skills to manage the emotional responses of the disputants but they are not taught how to effectively manage their own physiological responses to the stress and emotions they experience as conflict resolvers This experiential presentation will address this fundamental gap in training by introducing somatic skills focused on breath posture and vision that help mitigate the stress of resolving conflict Stephen Kotev is a conflict resolution consultant offering mediation negotiation conflict analysis facilitation training and somatic education to private and government clients He holds a masters degree from George Mason University s Institute for Conflict Analysis and Resolution and a black belt in the Japanese martial art of Aikido He is a former employee of the Association for Conflict Resolution

    York and The CUNY Dispute Resolution Consortium at John Jay College present the Monthly NYC DR Roundtable Breakfast ANGER MANAGEMENT AND MEDIATION Dave Wolffe MS Ed This interactive presentation will explore different aspects of dealing with anger in relationships The areas to be covered include Definition of anger management Examination of the causes and effects of anger in individuals Methods of handling this emotion Dave will also discuss different situations where anger management tools can be applied Dave Wolffe an educator for over 35 years earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree and Masters Degree in Education from Queens College He taught grades 1 9 for most of his over 30 years with the New York City Board of Education and was a high school guidance counselor for the last 13 years of his career For the past six years he has been an Adjunct Lecturer at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City where he teaches Sociology of Conflict a course in the Dispute Resolution Program He was certified as a Peer Mediation Specialist from the International Center for Conflict Resolution of Columbia University Teachers College While working as a high school counselor this training enabled him to teach high school students to facilitate peer mediation sessions with other students During this experience he and many of these young people helped to establish facilitate and participate in school wide and borough wide violence prevention programs He became certified as a mediator by Westchester Mediation of Cluster located in Yonkers N Y Dave developed an anger management program known as The Anger Management Power A M P Program that has been facilitated with over 1 000 high school students and well over 600 parents educators and other individuals who are concerned with helping youth in this area He
