    Country celebration and to be recognized as proud alumni of the organization For more than 20 years AIBL s mission has been to increase the representation of American Indians and Alaska Natives in business and entrepreneurial ventures through education and leadership development opportunities This will be a major milestone for our organization and for Indian Country says Tina Begay AIBL Executive Director We are calling on our AIBL alumni to attend the conference and all others interested in learning more about AIBL Since its inception hundreds of students from across the country have participated in the AIBL organization With the support of the AIBL network these students have grown and established successful professional careers Many students joined AIBL during high school then later transitioned through college and beyond Through participation in AIBL these students gained business knowledge combined with practical experiences which fostered their entrepreneurial spirit AIBL is now calling upon its alumni to help build a National AIBL Alumni Network and share their knowledge and expertise with others The connections I made through SKC AIBL and National AIBL have played a very important part in my college career and continue to follow me into the workforce I feel it is important to give back to those who have helped you so I encourage all alumni to continue to support the organization that has shaped who we are today stated Colleen Tenas AIBL Alumni Salish Kootenai College Pablo MT AIBL programs have been designed to engage students in activities that stimulate enhance and expand educational experiences beyond traditional academic methods All students are encouraged to participate in AIBL regardless of race academic major or career objectives For more information on AIBL please call the national office at 877 245 AIBL 2425 or email info aibl org For membership information or

    Nike N7 N7 Ambassadors Jude Schimmel and Lyle Thompson spoke about what motivated them to the levels they achieved Artist Bunky Echo Hawk and the band A Tribe Called Red performed live throughout the evening The group then stayed in Washington D C and visited the monuments memorials and museums This trip was very meaningful for those who participated and created a sense of purpose within them On behalf of American Indian Business Leaders we would like to thank everyone that supported this trip and our AIBL members Below is a link to a recent article from the gathering http www huffingtonpost com 2015 07 09 michelle obama native youth n 7762124 html Read more AIBL accepts Gen I Challenge July 1 2015 This year American Indian Business Leaders accepted the Gen I Youth Challenge that is part of the White House s Generation Indigenous Native Youth Initiative AIBL in collaboration with the University of Montana s American Indian Student Services and Native American Studies Department hosted a Missoula Native Youth Expressive Arts Workshop on May 26th 2015 at the Payne Family Native American Center from 1PM 7PM In this workshop youth will were guided through theater based activities by Blackfeet Actress Lily Gladstone known for her roles in Winter in the Blood and Jimmy P These theatre activities were utilized as not only ice breakers but they helped the youth identity issues they encounter on a daily basis and empowered them to find their voices and address these issues Dialogued issues included discrimination and micro aggressions within the public school systems from teachers and administrators Also participating youth discussed the disconnection they feel living in an urban area versus on the reservation and how that affects their identity Once the issues participating youth encounter on a daily basis were identified the workshop moderators were able to introduce spoken word performance and digital storytelling to the youth and share how these are tools for them to share their voices The workshop moderators included hip hop artists from True Pride Music Nataanii Means Oglala Lakota Dine MC Rhetorik Santo Domingo Pueblo YAZ Like JAWZ Blackfeet Dine Through the use of modern day technology such as IPads and iPhones youth recorded their experience with the workshop A final 3 minute video of this experience will be posted soon Read more 2014 Conference Announcement May 14 2013 Exectutive Director Ms Tina Begay The AIBL National Conference is the Premier Native American Student Business Conference in the country The theme of the AIBL 2014 conference is Celebrating 20 Years of Building Leaders in Indian Country The annual conference showcases the best and brightest AIBL student chapter members where they will enter competitions earn awards hear from inspirational speakers and broaden their knowledge through career focused and educational workshops We invite you to participate in our event by joining us as a conference sponsor In order for AIBL to provide this annual inspirational and educational event experience sponsors are needed to assist us to underwrite
