    4 July 2011 3 June 2011 2 March 2011 7 December 2010 5 August 2010 5 April 2010 2 March 2010 1 February 2010 2 December 2009 3 October 2009 1 September 2009 1 August 2009 2 July 2009 2 April 2009 1 February 2009 1 October 2008 1 September 2008 1 Foreclosure Prevention Mortgage Modification Mediation Program ALABAMA FORECLOSURE MEDIATION TRAINING SET FOR APRIL 9 10 2014 Family Mediation Program The Alabama Center for Dispute Resolution Inc offers a FREE family mediation program to help families with children fashion a parenting plan for the judge The Center will pay the cost of specially trained mediators to support the process Since 2013 ACDR has been expanding this program The Family Mediation program is a collaboration between the Center and the Supreme Court of Alabama Our goal is to help families with children and incomes under 85 000 fashion a parenting plan specific to their family to give to the judge The plan includes parenting time responsibilities support and other items the family may want The Center pays the mediators with the special designation divorce domestic relations signifying 40 hours of specialized training Mediators are also asked to give a small amount of pro bono time Highlighted in the December 2014 issue of Alabama Lawyer the program has proved successful We mediated 20 cases in 2013 22 in 2014 and in 2015 since October 1 2014 we already have 23 cases underway nine of which have arrived at agreements This program is a chance for the Center to make a difference for Alabama families There are 22 counties currently participating We want to expand so that judges attorneys and parties statewide know the worth of mediation in family cases See more at http alabamaadr org web publicinfo FamilyMediation index php Tags

    5 April 2010 2 March 2010 1 February 2010 2 December 2009 3 October 2009 1 September 2009 1 August 2009 2 July 2009 2 April 2009 1 February 2009 1 October 2008 1 September 2008 1 SAVE THE DATE ABA ADVANCED MEDIATION ADVOCACY SKILLS INSTITUTE GET THE LATEST ON ARBITRATION ARBITRATION LAW UPDATE ABA SPONSORED Auto Draft ALABAMA ATTORNEY GENERAL LUTHER STRANGE AWARDS MORTGAGE SETTLEMENT FUNDS The Alabama Attorney General Luther Strange announced on May 23 2013 the six recipients of nearly 4 million that his office is awarding through the National Mortgage Settlement Funding Program The money is being distributed to governmental entities or charitable organizations for projects to mitigate and prevent ill effects of the foreclosure process for Alabama consumers The announcement stated that the Alabama Center for Dispute Resolution Inc a 501 c 3 non profit would receive 500 000 for its Alabama Statewide Foreclosure Prevention Mediation Program to train mediators throughout the state in foreclosure mediation and provide about 300 to 500 foreclosure mediations Attorney General Strange stated that The Center has a history of establishing mediation programs in courts throughout the state as well as educating mediators in the specifics of various areas of law General Strange declared that Mediation can be a powerful tool in avoiding foreclosure by bringing both the homeowner and lender to an agreement The Alabama Statewide Foreclosure Prevention Mediation Program will have a lasting impact by helping homeowners throughout the state avoid foreclosure while education mediators in foreclosure law and process Other grant recipients included Legal Services Alabama Gateway Woodlawn Foundation Inc Women s Fund of Greater Birmingham and the University of Alabama School of Law The funds were secured by the Attorney General s participation in last year s 25 billion joint federal state agreement with the nation
