    history performers and local experts presenting history and the humanities through the timeline of the automobile Museum s symposiums have been funded in part by grants from Nevada Humanities a state program of the National Endowment for the Humanities While open to the public many teachers attend these programs as the Nevada Department of Education has approved our symposiums for teachers to earn inservice credit for attending Help fund new exhibit signs our stories for our collection of more than 200 remarkable vehicles in the Museum s collection A new theme has been developed to meet the interest of today s audiences Help fund needed technology upgrades equipment hardware software installation to enable the Museum can keep pace with its many information technology needs Help fund the new cash registers for the sale of admission tickets and store merchandise with inventory control systems Help fund a new sound system throughout the Museum for visitors announcements and emergency needs Help fund the production of a video to be shown in the Museum Theater about the fascinating story of the 1908 New York to Paris Automobile Race The grueling 169 day 22 000 mile competition was won by the Museum s 1907 Thomas Flyer one of the most historically important American built automobiles This victory had a tremendous impact on the American automobile industry Resources include original photographs and journal entries and a wealth of research materials Help fund staff services to assist with administrative and curatorial needs to support the Museum s many projects Help fund ongoing infrastructure needs and upgrades Help seek donations of new product such as public seating in the Museum lobby Perhaps someone has connections with a business furniture manufacturer needing or willing to make a charitable contribution Contact the Museum s Executive Director Jackie Frady to
