    come together to become a community The following information will help students and families with the transition More Classroom Guidance According to the American School Counselor Association ASCA one of the key components of a school counseling program is the delivery of structured lessons that are designed to provide all students with the knowledge attitudes and skills appropriate for their developmental level More College Credit Plus College Credit Plus is a program that allows 7 12 students in Ohio to earn college credit For more information see this video or the BHS Counseling page College and Career During 8th grade all students participate in classroom guidance lessons that encourage them to think about how planning for high school can impact their future Students are taught to use tools such as Naviance and OhioMeansJobs that will play an important role in their post secondary planning More Standardized Testing Students at Bexley Middle School participate in a variety of standardized tests throughout the year The results from these tests are used to evaluate courses programs teachers and students and ensure that all students are receiving a rigorous academic program with developmentally appropriate supports More Student Led Conferences Bexley Middle School conducts student led conferences each October Parents and students review a portfolio prepared by the student demonstrating achievement from the first quarter Teachers are available to provide feedback on how the year has started Family Resources The Association for Middle Level Education and International Baccalaureate both identify a focus on the whole child as a key component to developing well rounded well educated successful and happy middle school students Bexley City Schools and Bexley Middle School wholeheartedly embrace this philosophy and seek to support developmentally appropriate ways to help students and families reach these goals inside and outside of the school building
