and meet some old friends One of the beauties of Kebele has always been thats it s acted as a sort of hub in Bristol a space where people meet up get to know eachother network chat and then go off and do some fine things often not connected to Kebele at all Kebele has provided the anarchic seed that others choose to take away to grow whilst some keep it growing within Kebele itself Long may that last Here s a list of events coming up for the next 4 weeks and check the Kebele website FB page for updates This entry was posted in Resistance and tagged 2015 Anarchist Bristol events film fundraisers history kebele meetings NovemberFest Bookmark the permalink Call out for Bristol Anarchist Bookfair Collective 2016 Organising for the 2016 Bristol Anarchist Bookfair Follow Us Recent Posts Bristol Anarchist Bookfair and May Day Weekender Full Programme For The 8th Bristol Anarchist Bookfair This Saturday LaDIYfest Bristol presents the Anarchist Bookfair After Party All Meetings Workshops at the Bookfair All the Stalls at the Bookfair Ideas for Action 1st of May Join the Radical Workers Bloc on Bristol May Day march Psst Last Call For Anarchist Art To Display At The Bookfair April Fool Anarchist Bookfair fundraiser no 2 Local links Alternative Bristol Anarchist Infoshop Kebele Bored of Patriarchy Bristol ABC prisoner support Bristol against arms trade Bristol Anarchist Federation Bristol animal rights collective Bristol Anti Fascists Bristol Defendant Solidarity Bristol housing action movement Bristol IWW Bristol No Borders Bristol Radical Film Festival Bristol Radical History Group Bristol Rising Tide Bristol SolFed Bristol Solidarity Network Bristol Uni anarchists Frack Free Bristol Kebele social centre Kebele sound collective KIPTIK Men Against Patriarchy Bristol Permanent Culture Now Persons Unknown Publications sian and crooked rib The Bristolian The Cube The

  • A comment on The Trinity Centre this years venue | Bristol Anarchist Bookfair
but have never been confident we have the resources to do this for an event like the bookfair which has quite a long run in We want the bookfair to be an accessible and safe space for all those who wish to come and see it as an opportunity to make the wide variety of anarchist radical ideas available to as many people as possible and in part that means being able to advertise widely the location far in advance If you cant handle the reality of Trinity s situation or feel unsafe so close to a police station then dont come It s a sad fact that cops cctv and indeed other state surveillance apparatus are never far away and we have to live and deal with that fact as we see fit The alternative would be to operate in a clandestine existence but if we did that we wouldnt be putting on a public event would we If you can come up with a secure safe accessible venue guaranteed free from any form of state surveillance for future bookfairs then do please let us know We d love to hear from you We have made it clear at successive bookfair s that neither the corporate media nor the police are welcome inside the bookfair Nor is there any reason for them to enter it s a bookfair not a crime scene nor a celebrity kiss tell We have never had any trouble within the bookfair and are confident that any issues that did arise would be dealt with swiftly and collectively by the assembled anarchists As the organising collective and hirers of the venue we reserve the right to refuse entry to the bookfair as we have done in the past and to eject with due warning any undesirable disruptive elements as we have also done in the past If you are a potential bookfair visitor and you have any further questions please get in touch with us by email or come to the bookfair infopoint on the day If you are interested in the subject of the secret state you may want to come to this event on 13 April at 3pm at Hydra Bookshop Secrets and spies a talk by author Eveline Lubbers about her book Secret Manoeuvres in the Dark At the bookfair itself there will no doubt be much literature about the role of the state the police cctv surveillance generally Amongst other related meetings there will also be a meeting run by the Shrewsbury 24 Campaign Our campaign is seeking to overturn the unjust prosecution of 24 building workers who were charged following the first ever national building workers strike in 1972 They picketed building sites in Shrewsbury during the dispute and were prosecuted in Shrewsbury Crown Court in 1973 They became known as the Shrewsbury 24 This entry was posted in Uncategorized and tagged 2013 Anarchist AnarchoSeries bookfair Bristol cops events Trinity Bookmark the permalink Stalls all booked up Update on meetings

is open to all and people are welcome to come along get involved and have a say in how next year s event should be run There are plenty of ways to help out with making next year s Bookfair a success so even if you are unable to commit to coming to meetings please contact us as we d love to hear from you As David Cameron talks about permanent austerity while cutting front line services and stuffing the pockets of his rich friends it is more important than ever to show that an alternative does exist and that it is achievable As countries around the world boil over with revolutionary fervor it is vital that we don t suffocate under the weight of reactionary forces bent on dividing us We must build a new society in the shell of the old and the Bristol Anarchist Bookfair is as good a place as any to put our politics into practice and show the rest of Bristol what anarchism really means If you would like to get involved in organising next year s Bookfair please come along to our next planning meeting on Wednesday 11th December 8th January at 7 30pm at Kebele social centre All are welcome If you are unable to make the meeting but would still like to be involved please e mail us at bristolanarchistbookfair at riseup dot net This entry was posted in Uncategorized and tagged 2014 anarchism Anarchist bookfair Bristol class struggle radical politics Bookmark the permalink Ideas Words Books Films Update Bristol Anarchist Bookfair 2014 Follow Us Recent Posts Bristol Anarchist Bookfair and May Day Weekender Full Programme For The 8th Bristol Anarchist Bookfair This Saturday LaDIYfest Bristol presents the Anarchist Bookfair After Party All Meetings Workshops at the Bookfair All the Stalls at the Bookfair Ideas for Action 1st of May Join the Radical Workers Bloc on Bristol May Day march Psst Last Call For Anarchist Art To Display At The Bookfair April Fool Anarchist Bookfair fundraiser no 2 Local links Alternative Bristol Anarchist Infoshop Kebele Bored of Patriarchy Bristol ABC prisoner support Bristol against arms trade Bristol Anarchist Federation Bristol animal rights collective Bristol Anti Fascists Bristol Defendant Solidarity Bristol housing action movement Bristol IWW Bristol No Borders Bristol Radical Film Festival Bristol Radical History Group Bristol Rising Tide Bristol SolFed Bristol Solidarity Network Bristol Uni anarchists Frack Free Bristol Kebele social centre Kebele sound collective KIPTIK Men Against Patriarchy Bristol Permanent Culture Now Persons Unknown Publications sian and crooked rib The Bristolian The Cube The Hydra Bookshop Local Radical Events Bristol alternative diary Neighbours links BARF Bath Cardiff Anarchist Network Cardiff Squatters Network Forest of Dean Anarchists Hereford Heckler South Wales Anarchists Standing Stone Bath Swindon Anarchists The Land mag Wessex Solidarity Some Bookfairs Bookfairs of the World London bookfair Montreal Bookfair Tags 2010 2011 2013 2014 2015 2016 Anarchist AnarchoSeries Banksy bookfair Booking Bristol capital class climate cops cuts debate events film Freedom fundraisers greece Hamilton House history Hydra
