    the door on relapse which arises from negative self views About the workshop In this workshop you will discover how important communities such as The Buddhist Recovery Network and The 5th Precept Sangha are successfully working with these teachings They enable All Buddhist Communities to adopt their programs and effectively implement them into their own temples and centres Open to people of all backgrounds and respectful of all recovery paths this workshop will promote mindfulness and meditation which is grounded in Buddhist principles of non harming compassion and interdependence It also looks at how Buddhist Principles merge well with mainstream programs such as 12 step programs and Smart Recovery This workshop is a must for Anyone who is interested in using the Buddha s teachings as a path for recovery Family or friends of those who are suffering who would like to assist them with recovery Buddhist groups who would like to implement simple and effective recovery programs into their teaching schedules About Hoka Matt Lawther Hoka Matt Lawther is our Training Unit Manager and leads a Buddhist community on the Central Coast of NSW With degrees in Education and Buddhist Studies he has implemented education programs in detox centres rehabilitation facilities and detention centres He is interested in helping Buddhist groups to use the available recovery programs within their communities Hoka Matt has been researching this important topic for almost 30 years and recently returned from two treatment centres in Thailand where these issues are being dealt with solely and effectively by Buddhist practices Who should join this workshop All are welcome How can I book to attend this workshop Please contact us at office buddhistcouncil org or phone 9966 8893 How much is the attendance fee The fee for this 2 hour workshops is 30 00 registration required
