    September 2015 Santi Forest Monastery requires two non monastic supporters to help with its administration and operations In return the monastery will offer free accommodation and meals in a peaceful and breath taking natural setting conducive for meditation practice The monastics need your help to manage the logistics of the monastery to enable them to focus on their chosen full time spiritual path and essentially engage in more contemplative practices with a lesser administrative burden It would be a great service to the monastic community and in return they can offer you spiritual guidance and access to a quiet meditative atmosphere an extensive Buddhist library and beautiful peaceful surrounds The following two positions are currently vacant Kitchen Cook and Coordinator preferably female This position is under the supervision of the nuns a love and knowledge of vegetarian cooking and nutrition Mon Fri 5 days a week breakfast and lunch This person finishes in the afternoon after lunch clean up at approx 12 30pm with assistance from the community Breakfast setup commences at approx 6am has a driving licence maintain hygiene of kitchen management of food supply keep dana whiteboard up to date weekend and afternoons are free Office and Accommodation Coordinator preferably female This position is under the supervision of the nuns working hours are from 8 11am and 3hrs in the afternoon evening depending on guest arrival time has a driving licence have some sound computer skills take care of incoming emails and post handling petty cash and entering cash flow into spreadsheet require spreadsheet skills handling invoices scanning and communicating with bookkeeper in Sydney on daily basis answering phone and checking phone messages updating on line dana calendar and dana list food items needed on website and confirming dana appointments via email managing accommodation answer inquiries keep list

    Members Member Listing Member Benefits Member Service Accreditation Joining The Member Network Getting Involved Volunteer Positions Volunteer Application Form Become a Friend Update My Details About What We Do Videos Publications Annual Reports Newsletters Contact search NewsPage Search form Search You are here Home Mitra share stories of their humble beginnings at our forum on Morality the Younger Generation 16 June 2015 7 52pm admin1 Mitra share stories of their humble beginnings at our forum on Morality the Younger Generation date Saturday 30 May 2015 Our forum discussion on Morality the Younger Generation on Saturday 30 May was certainly enlivened by a talk given by Justin from the Mitra Youth Buddhist Network Justin contributed to our discussion by talking about how the Mitra network came about Justin shared that his exposure to Buddhism was purely incidental and propelled by monetary reasons He jokingly recounted that he had decided to join his university s Buddhist Society because it was the cheapest one to join with no joining fee This elicited laughter from the audience but all jokes aside Justin s introduction to the Dharma proved to be a great contribution to the student experience and university Buddhist societies across NSW university campuses After graduation Justin along with a group of peers were looking for meaningful ways to give back to their community especially in regards to young people They were grateful for their tertiary education in addition to the privilege of being exposed to the Buddha s teachings As such they joined together to establish the Mitra Youth Buddhist Network an organisation that supports Buddhist societies across NSW universities facilitating the exchange of information and pooling resources to successfully run a society Justin added that he was always open to connect and network with other likeminded individuals who wanted to share
