    Do Videos Publications Annual Reports Newsletters Contact search NewsPage Search form Search You are here Home Calling All Cooks Event Image Body Calling All Cooks As you will know every retreat we run depends on volunteer cooks to provide the wholesome meals that nourish the meditators and keep their spirits high We have a busy schedule of retreats ahead of us with more to be added and this is placing a heavy demand on our usual teams of cooks and assistants We are hoping you can help If you would like to turn your culinary abilities to retreat cooking we are booking in cooks for the next 12 months We especially need lead cooks for our longer retreats Committing just for a short period of two or three days will help greatly to ease the shortage A great deal of experience is not necessary and if you re a little unsure about cooking for large volumes we have easy to follow set recipes and will provide training and mentoring Of course if lead cooking still feels like too much but you d like to volunteer as an assistant we d still love to hear from you Or perhaps you are an experienced cook and would like to offer a day s mentoring and share your knowledge with others Cook vacancies still need to be filled for 27 December 10 January Self retreat period 17 26 January 9 day retreat with Rosemary Steve Weissman 21 23 February weekend retreat with Jill Shepherd 4 April 2 May 4 week retreat with Patrick Kearney 30 May 1 June weekend retreat with Danny Taylor Cooking at BMIMC is a wonderful way to get to know the meditation community Centre staff and teachers while supporting others in their practice We recognise the important contribution work
