    Spiritual Care Projects For Members Member Listing Member Benefits Member Service Accreditation Joining The Member Network Getting Involved Volunteer Positions Volunteer Application Form Become a Friend Update My Details About What We Do Videos Publications Annual Reports Newsletters Contact search NewsPage Search form Search You are here Home Compassionate Living Practical methods for developing loving kindness empathy and joy Event Image Body Compassionate Living Practical methods for developing loving kindness empathy and joy Although kindness and compassion are basic human qualities it is not always easy to embody them in our lives especially in today s hectic fast paced world Thankfully we can actively cultivate compassion bringing major benefits for our health and well being and our relationships with family friends and colleagues This course will present simple ways to develop our empathy and compassion for ourselves and those around us at home at work and in every aspect of our lives It will dispel some of the myths about compassion and reveal how through cultivating our natural capacity for compassion we can discover the strength and resilience to meet challenges head on and to lead more meaningful and fulfilling lives This exploration of empathy and compassion will include instruction in compassion practices from the Buddhist tradition but will be conducted in a spirit of open enquiry and so will be relevant for those of any spiritual tradition or none Compassionate Living will be presented by Alexandra Yuille one of Rigpa s senior most instructors After a successful career in business Alexandra trained in Clinical Pastoral Care and has been active in the Rigpa Spiritual Care Program as a Spiritual Care Educator Alexandra has been a student of Sogyal Rinpoche since 1994 and she has completed a three year retreat in Lerab Ling France 8 week course starting Monday 5
