  • Cultivating Emotional Balance with Corey Jackson | Buddhist Connection
    a 42 hour evidence based training program for working with our emotions The goal of the CEB training program is to train participants in the skills for reducing emotional responses that are destructive to self and others and enhancing positive states of compassion empathy altruism and pro social behaviour Participants will learn the two components 1 a psychological component for understanding emotions and their expressions and 2 a contemplative component based on Buddhist teaching and practice developed over 2500 years Focusing on both theory and practice participants can integrate their experiential understanding into a theoretical framework The whole program is designed to be delivered in a secular context that integrates Western science and Eastern philosophy This unique program was developed in response to a dialogue between the revered spiritual leader the Dalai Lama Dr Alan Wallace a highly respected Buddhist scholar and Professor Paul Ekman a world renowned psychologist within the field of emotions This dialogue became the subject of the best selling book Destructive Emotions written by Daniel Goleman VI training is the only centre offering the CEB course in Sydney and it is taught by our accredited CEB trainers Course leader Corey Jackson is an accredited CEB trainer He undertook the intensive CEB Teaching Training course at Thanyapura Mind Centre Phuket Thailand in 2011 He majors in Psychology and Sanskrit at the University of Sydney and is the Tibetan interpreter at Vajrayana Institute He has a passion for transferring ancient wisdom in a thoroughly modern context Schedule The program is held over four or five consecutive weekends Participants must attend all 6 full day sessions Each day is from 9am to 5pm Course 1 13 14 July 20 July 27 July 3 August 10 August 2013 OR Course 2 16 17 November 23 November 30 November 7 8
