  • Become a Master Naturalist | Capital Area Master Naturalists
    fees which cover the cost of the Master Naturalist curriculum handouts given during the class park entrance fees and space rental mandatory security checks a graduation luncheon and certification materials certificates identification cards and name badges are 125 Applications will exceed the number of applicants that can be accommodated Attendance is strictly limited to 30 students Applications will be reviewed by the Student Curriculum Committee and Executive Board to determine availability for volunteer service and coursework as well as commitment to stewardship of our natural resources Upon approval registration will be given on a first come first serve basis though applications will also be evaluated for their merit in furthering CAMN s mission New Member Timeline This is a generalized timeline actual dates are finalized each year August 1 Applications become available on this website Early October Class chosen by committee applicants notified Mid November Mandatory orientation session for those applicants and waitlist people accepted Late Fall Spring 10 class periods generally on Saturdays ending April April Classes end new member graduation December New Member required volunteer hours advanced training and any make up training to be finished and reported To Transfer in From Another Chapter The former chapter should write a letter at the member s request to Capital Area indicating that the member is in good standing and has completed X number of hours of service and Y number of hours of advanced training These numbers are credited to work achieved in the former chapter and subsequent work and service hours recorded by Capital Area The cumulative hours for the year would be the basis for re certification of the member and logged to the member for service milestone hours Letters should be addressed to our administrative secretary admin secretary camn org Share this Facebook Twitter Email Like

    501c3 Past President Aids in transition to new leadership advisor Administrative Secretary Responsible for maintaining database of students and alumni This includes names addresses class attendance volunteer hours earned and advanced training completed Chief liaison with State MN online Volunteer Management System Has legal authority within 501c3 Recording Secretary Responsible for attending BoD and official CAMN meetings and recording editing and sharing meeting minutes Has legal authority within 501c3 Treasurer Responsible for oversight and record keeping of CAMN funds in accordance with approved budget Has legal authority within 501c3 Member at Large 1 Serves as a voice and vote on the Board of Directors representing the CAMN membership Member at Large 2 Serves as a voice and vote on the Board of Directors representing the CAMN membership Traditionally chosen from a recent graduating class Advanced Training This committee plans and coordinates advanced training opportunities for volunteers as well as approves training done outside the organization Communications Website This committee is responsible for the Internet web page and press releases Curriculum This committee is responsible for developing the curriculum of CAMN as well as planning the framework for the lectures activities and field trips for each class Education and Outreach This committee coordinates public education and outreach programs maintains a collection of hands on activities and presentations develops new hands on activities and presentations and tracks our impact in the community Field Trips This committee arranges and organizes field trips Food Fun This committee serves to facilitate the social aspects of our organization including the ceremonies and holiday celebrations Volunteer Opportunities This committee is responsible for developing criteria to determine whether volunteer opportunities may be counted for CAMN credit reviewing suggested opportunities and approving or disapproving them based on the stated criteria and publicizing approved opportunities Currently handles The Weekly Reader
