    your entry form Photographs of such materials as mouse pads key chains stuffed animals clothing mugs food and donor gifts are sufficient The judges will look for entries that specifically Objectives of the branding program Rationale for change Constituent research preferably of a range of audiences used to inform the brand positioning Understanding of target audiences and competitive environment Campus involvement in the branding effort as evidenced by committee or project team membership Institution s unique qualities and how well they are communicated Consistent look and feel applied to marketing materials Budget and creative use of resources Creativity and innovation Impact to date of the branding program on your institution Submit your entry Visual Identity Systems Awards will be given to outstanding visual identity systems produced to maintain a consistent identity across all media of an institution as a whole or for an individual college or entity such as an alumni association within the institution Each program constitutes a single entry Programs may be ongoing or new this year but must have been in place long enough to show quantifiable results Winning programs may not be resubmitted for an award within three years of its first submission 1 Submit your entry through our online entry process with attachments of three to five different publications print outs from the web or photographs representative of the work submitted 2 If one was created include your style guide as an attachment If additional materials were produced describe them in the Additional Information section on your entry form Photographs of such materials as mouse pads key chains stuffed animals clothing mugs food and donor gifts are sufficient The judges will look for entries that specifically Clarity of stated objectives for the identity system Rationale for solution developed if new reason and need for change Effective presentation and design of information that reflects the character and personality of the institution Creativity Consistency of application Understanding of target audience s If not an overall institution wide identity system evidence of integration with the existing institutional identity Usability effectiveness and clarity of any published guidelines Overall effectiveness as related to stated goals Submit your entry Advertising Ad campaigns and single ads used in the advancement of an institution with an emphasis placed on paid advertising Individual ads include individual pieces such as space ads posters web advertising etc not used in direct mail promotions Does not include video PSAs The judges will look for entries that specifically Program objectives and how well you have reached them Understanding of your target audience s Content writing editing and design of ad or group of ads Fresh ideas and creative concept development Institution s mission and how well it is communicated Budget Impact and results Submit your entry Photography Individual Photograph Awards will be given for the best black and white and or color photography All work must have appeared in print in an institutional publication or periodical or have been used for some institutional purpose such as on a

    Awards may be given to the best external audience newsletters If your newsletter has a predominantly internal audience enter it in Internal Audience Publications Open to colleges universities and independent schools To be eligible your periodical must be published two or more times a year To be considered for an award in the Circle of Excellence Awards program all entries except those in specified categories must be submitted both online and as a hard copy to the judging location Judging sessions for this awards program are mostly done face to face at a member institution using the hard copies of the entries Online versions and attachments are used so that judges can look at the work prior to the judging to read articles or to get a general idea of what they will be viewing during the actual judging Online entries and attachments are also used to post the winners on the CASE website for members to view Judges specifically will look at Objectives of your newsletter s publishing program Writing editing and article selection Design Navigation Creativity Understanding of your target audience s Institution s mission and how well it is communicated Budget and use of available resources Submit your entry Internal Audience Publications Print Awards will be given for the best recurring publications designed for a mainly internal audience faculty staff and students Publications may include internal audience newsletters or magazines or other regularly recurring publications Open to colleges universities and independent schools To be eligible your periodical must be published two or more times a year Judges specifically will look at Objectives Writing editing and article selection Design Creativity Understanding of your target audience s Institution s mission and how well it is communicated Budget and use of available resources Results Submit your entry Internal Audience Publications Digital Awards will be given for the best recurring publications designed for a mainly internal audience faculty staff and students Publications may include internal audience newsletters or magazines or other regularly recurring publications Open to colleges universities and independent schools To be eligible your periodical must be published two or more times a year Be sure to include the URLs and passwords if needed of two different issues of your internal audience publication for viewing online Judges specifically will look at Objectives Writing editing and article selection Design Navigation Creativity Understanding of your target audience s Institution s mission and how well it is communicated Budget and use of available resources Results Submit your entry Fundraising Publications Packages Outstanding examples of packages of two to five coordinated fundraising publications and other materials targeted at any audience Materials may be from a single mailing or a group of mailings and may include flyers pamphlets brochures T shirts or other non print materials such as websites if they are part of a coordinated group of publications One publication package constitutes a single entry You may enter as many publication packages as you want but each submission requires its own entry form and
