    zone Fees Continuing professional development CPD Code of ethics and conduct Careers in housing Membership Who we are Join today Membership benefits Chartered membership Fellowship Grade changes Webinars Career innovation zone Student zone Fees Continuing professional development CPD Code of ethics and conduct Careers in housing Fellowship Fellowship is an honoured class of membership recognising highly experienced professionals who have made a huge impact on housing it is the most senior membership grade offered by CIH How do I become a fellow Only existing chartered members can apply for fellowship Applications are assessed by the Fellowship Admissions panel which is made up of a selection of members who have previously been involved in CIH s governance The panel reviews applications throughout the year based on the applicant demonstrating that they meet the following criteria Contribution to the profession and the community the member has been actively engaged in developing and supporting other members of the profession and or the community and can demonstrate they have made a difference Leadership the applicant will have shown leadership experience in their field developing and delivering a vision encouraging others and advancing the environment in the sector in which they operate The application process All applications will be acknowledged and a timetable for review confirmed with the applicant The Fellowship Admissions panel may ask for additional information to assist in their assessment or want to meet with the applicant Applications can be made at any time and will be held until the next meeting of the panel Applications should include application form CV evidence of 20 hours CPD during the past 12 months personal statement of no more than 1 000 words statements by two referees The cost of application for fellowship is 250 and successful applicants will then pay an annual membership fee

    CPD Code of ethics and conduct Careers in housing Membership grade changes Following feedback from our members we have reviewed our membership journey and are now introducing two new grades of membership These grades will be implemented throughout the rest of 2015 with all existing members who are eligible for higher membership grade being migrated automatically by the beginning of 2016 New grades In response to feedback from members that our current membership structure does not provide a clear route of progression for those working towards Chartered Membership or those who have made a significant contribution to housing once qualified we are proposing to introduce two additional grades of membership Certified Practitioner and Fellow These two new grades will help provide a clear membership journey for those looking to achieve maximum recognition within the housing sector Our new membership structure will look like this Member Those interested in housing but not working towards gaining a CIH accredited route to professional membership Members receive access to all of our standard member benefits Certified practitioner For members who have achieved CIH Level 3 or Level 4 qualifications or other CIH recognised qualifications at the same level In addition to standard member benefits CIH certified practitioners also receive access to CIH s ethics helpline and mentoring scheme Existing members that meet the criteria to become a certified practitioner will be migrated to this grade automatically Chartered member Those with a CIH recognised Level 5 or above qualification or members who have completed an experiential route accredited by CIH Chartered members receive all of benefits listed above plus access to practice online invitations to participate in policy panels and are also eligible to become a CIH mentor chair of a regional board or run for CIH President Fellow For chartered members who can demonstrate
