    in practice today through centuries old guilds for the crafts of building We are pleased to announce that prominent architects Kahlil Hamady and Leslie jon Vickory will lead the tour alongside acclaimed architectural watercolorists Andrew Zega and Bernd Dams who will lead drawing and watercolour demonstrations that will enable participants to hone their observational skills of some of the City s prominent architectural heritage Course Description The course is centered on exploring the Neo Classical Architecture of Paris In contrast to Rome Paris Classical traditions are relatively recent and modern and a significant historical source of inspiration for American architects and designers dating back to Thomas Jefferson s political residency in France The city is experienced through a northern filtered light which highlights its architectural fabric best recorded through the subtle means of watercolors and grisailles Participants will attend lectures on the history of the City and its architecture its influence on American Classical architecture to be followed by classes and demonstrations on watercolors tours of prominent Neo Classical buildings visual studies of some of the City s prominent architectural heritage via sketchbook and visits to institutions which have preserved records of Classical works and the crafts of building TUITION
