    Ford PA John D Milner FAIA established his architectural practice in 1968 specializing in the restoration of historic buildings and the design of new residences In the decades that followed he developed highly respected multi disciplinary firms of architects historians archeologists planners and conservators Mary Werner DeNadai FAIA joined John as his business partner in 1982 Their firm s preservation work encompasses remarkably diverse projects historic houses churches railroad stations downtown residential and commercial districts and a variety of institutional and industrial buildings Their residential designs are informed by their first hand experience through restoration and research with the styles proportions and details of three centuries of American architecture John Milner Architects Inc has offices in Chadds Ford and Philadelphia Complementing John Milner s architectural practice is his long held commitment to the education of young architects and historic preservationists For the past thirty years he has served on the faculty of the University of Pennsylvania s School of Design and has lectured at many other universities Mary DeNadai s dedication to public service is represented by her active membership on the Boards of The National Trust for Historic Preservation AIA Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Chapters Preservation Pennsylvania and the National Historic Landmarks Committee of the National Park Service In 2007 she was appointed by the U S Department of State to serve on a consultant team advising the Cuban Government on restoration of Ernest Hemingway s house near Havana In 2006 John and Mary joined with John Carr to establish Milner Carr Conservation LLC a Philadelphia based firm specializing in the documentation analysis condition assessment monitoring and treatment of historic buildings and objects Artisanship Chris Pellettieri New York NY Chris Pellettieri is both a skilled craftsman and consummate artist his original designs are combined with a commitment to flawless execution He specializes in free hand sculpture decorative design portraiture and lettering in both public and private settings After receiving his BA in mathematics from NYU in 1989 he began training at the Artida Atelier in New York in Italian techniques of sculpture and casting before becoming in an apprentice 1990 at the Cathedral of St John the Divine Much of his background is based on geometry which plays a major role in stonework and he particularly appreciates the intellectual and physical challenges that stoneworking offers He has numerous commissions for churches and individuals and has taught workshops at The Museum of American Folk Art the Cooper Hewitt and at the Cathedral of St John the Divine History publishing Library of American Landscape History Amherst MA The Library of American Landscape History a nonprofit organization based in Amherst Massachusetts was founded in 1992 to develop books and exhibitions about designed landscapes in North America LALH books combine a range of disciplines art and architectural history social economic and political history cultural geography and horticultural studies Their publications inspire stewardship by increasing public appreciation for historically significant landscapes and also by guiding preservationists whose work depends on gaining insight into the principles
