    in that liquid energy on which we all depend According to the Energy Information Administration since 2009 when the most recent oil shock struck the average U S household has spent more than 2 000 every year on gasoline We are confronted by endless choices from the toothpastes to the coffees we can buy but we have grown dependent on one lone option for powering our rides Back in 2007 the Renewable Fuel Standard RFS became federal law as part of the Energy Independence Security Act to help change that The RFS sets requirements to increase and to ramp up over time the amount of non petroleum fuels we use As of today about 10 of the U S fuel supply is renewable based by way of using ethanol biodiesel renewable diesel and other growing choices But now it gets tricky To ramp up to the next levels set in the RFS the obligated parties within the oil industry need to allow in more renewables like E15 and Flex Fuels such as E85 The oil industry needs to be willing to invest in and make changes that could lessen their share of the market Some like Valero and Flint Hills

    cleandiesel html This grant is administered by the Department of Natural Resources with funding provided by the U S EPA It is available to any type of diesel equipment operation based in Wisconsin on road vehicles off road and stationary equipment Funds are much lower than in previous years so the program will be more competitive There is a total of approximately 115 000 available and each applicant may request up to 50 000 cost of device plus professional installation for a mix of the following projects See Guidelines for details of each project type Exhaust Control Retrofits grant covers 100 of the cost of EPA or CARB verified devices Engine Emission Upgrades grant covers 100 of the cost of EPA or CARB verified emission upgrade kits not entire rebuild cost On board Idling Reduction Devices grant covers 50 of the cost of EPA verified devices Engine Repower grant covers 50 of the cost for replacing older diesel engines with newer engines meeting more stringent emission standards at least 3 years ahead of normal replacement schedule Old engine must be destroyed Vehicle Equipment Replacement grant covers 25 or 30 for alternative fuel of the cost for replacing older diesel equipment
