    every state and the District of Columbia on a variety of health care measures Of the 34 measures that could be tracked between 2007 and 2011 12 all states saw meaningful improvement on at least seven But more than half of states lost ground on at least nine measures Scorecard on State Health System Performance for Low Income Populations 2013 The first ever health system performance scorecard focusing on low income Americans documents sharp disparities between states in the health and health care of the 39 percent of Americans with incomes less than twice the federal poverty level Scorecard on Local Health System Performance 2012 Health care access cost quality and outcomes can vary greatly from one community to the next both within states and across states depending on the performance of the health care system available to residents according to this report from the Commonwealth Fund Commission on a High Performance Health System National Scorecard on Health System Performance 2011 In the third National Scorecard on U S Health System Performance the U S health care system achieved a score of 64 out of 100 Despite pockets of improvement the United States as a whole failed to improve when compared with the top 10 percent of U S states regions health plans or health care providers or the top performing countries The scorecard measures the health system across 42 key indicators of health care quality access efficiency equity and healthy lives A State Scorecard on Long Term Services and Supports The first ever Scorecard of State Performance on Long Term Services and Supports finds wide variation in care and support for older adults and people with disabilities The scorecard was published jointly by AARP s Public Policy Institute The Commonwealth Fund and The SCAN Foundation State Scorecard on Child Health System Performance 2011 This Commonwealth Fund state by state scorecard evaluating how the health care system is working for children finds that federal and state action on behalf of children has helped preserve and even expand health coverage for this group despite the severe recession Yet across the states wide differences persist in coverage rates the affordability of health care children s receipt of preventive care and treatment and their opportunity to lead healthy lives State Scorecard on Health System Performance 2009 The cost and quality of health care as well as access to care and health outcomes continue to vary widely among states according to the Commonwealth Fund Commission on a High Performance Health System s second state scorecard report The states that led in the first state scorecard released in 2007 generally continued to lead often setting new benchmarks and widening the gap between leading and lagging states National Scorecard on U S Health System Performance 2008 Prepared for the Commonwealth Fund Commission on a High Performance Health System the National Scorecard on U S Health System Performance 2008 updates the 2006 Scorecard the first comprehensive means of measuring and monitoring health care outcomes quality access efficiency
