    new clothes and shoes for children infant to 12 years old to support the Cradles to Crayons Ready For School program Through partnering social service agencies the donations will go to children in homeless or low income situations This will be the third year for the partnership between the retailer and the organization We are so proud to be working together with Cradles to Crayons They run an incredibly impressive and efficient operation ensuring the dignity of the children and families that they serve said Eliot Tatelman Jordan s President and CEO It is so important for every child to feel important and worthy By working with the team at Cradles to Crayons we hope to do our part in helping area children get ready for school and be prepared to learn We know that our donation drive made an impact during the last 2 years We hope for the same success this year Cradles to Crayons was founded in 2002 with the mission of providing children from birth to age 12 some of the most important basics of life free of charge These basics include clothing school supplies toys and much more By supplying high quality used or new goods the organization helps local children in need feel valued C2C s unique business model provides an avenue through which children s products in good working condition can be recycled in a socially and environmentally responsible way Working in close partnership with social workers nurses teachers and therapists Cradles to Crayons has become a trusted resource to children and families in need to the organizations who serve those families and to families corporations and individuals who seek ways to make a tangible difference in their own communities We are thrilled to partner with Jordan s for the third year in

    Click here for details about our out of stock items Philadelphia Links About Us Directions Donate Funds Donation Tax Receipt Events FAQ Volunteer at the Giving Factory Philadelphia Home Cradles to Crayons Marks Major Milestone Supplies 200 000th Pack of Essential Items to Area Children Living in Poverty Cradles to Crayons Marks Major Milestone Supplies 200 000 th Pack of Essential Items to Area Children Living in Poverty Will thank supporters at special event Thursday June 5 PHILADELPHIA June 3 Local nonprofit Cradles to Crayons will mark a major milestone this week when it provides its 200 000 th Pack of essential items to a child 0 12 in a homeless or low income situation More than 300 000 children live in poverty in the Greater Philadelphia region Cradles to Crayons www cradlestocrayons org will spotlight the landmark event Thursday June 5 at a special 200 000 th Child Served celebration at its warehouse and offices in West Conshohocken Cradles to Crayons will host and thank its legion of supporters including board members individuals foundations financial contributors volunteers local business supporters corporate partners and human service agencies at the June 5 look back and look ahead event 6 p m 8 p m Michal Smith executive director of the organization noted that Cradles to Crayons served its 100 000 th child in 2012 five years after its founding in the area This week she said less than two years later we will serve our 200 000 th child suffering the acute effects of poverty Cradles to Crayons Packs KidPacks and Backpacks include basic items children need to thrive ranging from children s clothing warm coats and footwear to toys books school supplies and newborn baby items and infant safety equipment The items are contributed by families corporations schools and community

    announce that First Lady of Massachusetts Diane Patrick will be the Honorary Chair of the Cradles to Crayons Gear Up for Baby Program With Mother s Day in May and Father s Day in June Cradles to Crayons is focusing on its Gear Up for Baby program to collect and distribute items for infants and toddlers which are in chronically short supply at its Giving Factory warehouse in Brighton From strollers car seats toys and books to bath bedding and hygiene products Gear Up for Baby helps get parents equipped with the items they need to promote safety and healthy development in their child s first years In 2014 Cradles to Crayons will receive over 14 000 requests to help Massachusetts children age 0 to 3 years old The Gear Up for Baby program aims to raise awareness of and support for this critical need The goal during the months of May and June is to generate enough funding and in kind product donations to fill 7 000 of these orders I am happy and honored to be Honorary Chair for Cradles to Crayons Gear Up for Baby program Mrs Patrick commented It is a privilege to be working to support the work of Cradles to Crayons in order to serve the children in Massachusetts who are most vulnerable There are more than 300 000 children living in low income or homeless situations in Massachusetts 80 000 of these children are infants and toddlers In the first year of life alone it can cost a family of four living in the Northeast over 10 000 to provide the everyday essential items that children need to be safe healthy and thrive Many families are unable to afford essential baby basics For children lacking these essential items healthy development becomes challenging These
