    of the board of directors of organizations including the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts part of the Royal Society for Fine Arts and the Jordan Museum He served as project reviewer for the Aga Khan Award for Architecture during the 1989 1995 1998 2004 and 2007 cycles and is currently a member of the Award s Steering Committee Hani Imam Hussaini is a practicing architect and the founder and director of Almarsam Architects Engineers in Amman He received his architectural education from the University of Cambridge where he obtained his Bachelor s and Master s degrees as well as his Diploma in Architecture He practiced architecture in the United Kingdom both independently and at the London practice of Panter Hudspith Architects He was a Partner and Head of Architecture at Omrania Associates and the director of its Jordan offices which he helped establish Apart from Jordan and the United Kingdom he has been involved in projects in Greece Portugal Qatar Saudi Arabia Spain the United Arab Emirates and the West Bank His experience spans a very wide range of sectors and scales and includes residential commercial retail leisure hospitality education and sports projects Hussaini is a member of both the Jordan Engineers Association and the Royal Institute of British Architects Thamer Obeidat is an attorney at law and a partner with the law firm of Obeidat Freihat in Amman Jordan He studied law at the University of Jordan and at Harvard Law School Before returning to Jordan in 1992 he practiced law in the United States as an associate with the New York firm of White and Case and is a member of the Bar of the State of New York He is also a founder and director of IP Matters a Jordanian company concerned with the registration and protection of intellectual property rights inside and outside Jordan He is a member of the board of directors of Arab Potash Company and of Jordan Training Technology Group Rubicon His public service activities include serving as a trustee secretary and treasurer for Turab a Jordanian association that aims at preserving and promoting Jordan s Arab and Islamic cultural heritage He is also a founding member and past member of the board of trustees of the Jordan Society for Quality an association that aims at raising awareness and improving standards in Jordan regarding quality in industry and services Laith al Qasem currently holds several positions He is the Chief Executive Officer of Arabian Business Consultants for Development the Vice Chairman of RUBICON Jordan Training Technology Group the Vice Chairman of the Amman World Trade Center and the Chairman of Applied Engineering Ltd He studied engineering at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor and holds an MBA from Georgetown University His career spans both technology and investment He was Chief Executive Officer of the Jordan Technology Group JTG where he was intimately involved in 16 technology oriented start up companies He also had served as an equity and fixed income investment manager

    Contemporary Architecture and Urbanism in the Middle East 2012 and the editor of Workplaces The Transformation of Places of Production Industrialization and the Built Environment in the Islamic World 2010 He has been a member of the board of directors of organizations including the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts part of the Royal Society for Fine Arts and the Jordan Museum He had served as project reviewer for the Aga Khan Award for Architecture and is currently a member of the Award s Steering Committee Lara Zureikat is a landscape architect and the Associate Director of CSBE She holds a Bachelor of Architecture B Arch degree from the University of Notre Dame and a Master of Landscape Architecture M L A degree from the University of California at Berkeley Her work at CSBE has included the design of native water conserving landscapes She accordingly designed Jordan s first model water conserving park the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts Park and led an extensive public resource and publication program promoting the use of drought tolerant flora in landscape design Lara has also collaborated with local and international architecture firms on a number of institutional and urban projects including the Palestinian Museum Hub in Bir Zeit the Rainbow Street Regeneration Project in Amman the Amman Master Plan and the Dead Sea Development Zone Corniche District Tooma Zaghloul is a designer and a Research and Coordination Officer at CSBE He received his bachelor s degree in Architectural Engineering from the Hashemite University in 2013 and also completed an internship at CSBE His areas of interest include arts anthropology as well as design ethics and methodologies Afnan Barqawi is an architect and a Research and Coordination Officer at CSBE She received her bachelor s degree in Architecture from the German Jordanian University

    founder of a student program aimed at developing recruitment opportunities for young Jordanians a project supported by INJAZ Economic Opportunities for Jordanian Youth and by the Community Service Office in the University of Jordan Heba Alnajada is an architect and urban designer who served as a Design and Planning Officer at CSBE She holds a bachelor s degree in architecture from the University of Jordan and a master s degree in Urban Design from the University of Sheffield United Kingdom She completed an internship at the Università della Svizzera Italiana Switzerland focusing on low income housing She had worked as an architect at Jafaar Tukan Architects where she was involved in several high end and master planning projects in Libya and Palestine She also taught at the University of Jordan Nur al Fayez is an architect who served as a Design and Research Officer at CSBE Her work at CSBE had included the behavioral mapping of public spaces in Amman and coordinating several CSBE activities She also had been involved in a number of water conserving landscaping projects She holds a bachelor s degree in architecture from the University of Jordan and has completed internship with O2 Designs in Amman Her area of interest include design and planning for low income areas Sandra Hiari is an architect who served as a Research and Coordination Officer at CSBE She holds a bachelor s degree in architecture from the University of Jordan and a master s degree in urban planning at the Jordan University of Science and Technology She completed architectural internships with Mounir Hajjiri Associates and Al Hiyari Goussous Architects in Amman She worked as a junior architect at Sahel Al Hiyari Partners where she was the publishing collaborator for the monograph Sahel Al Hiyari Projects Dalia al Husseini is an architect who served as a Research and Coordination Officer at CSBE She holds a bachelor s degree in architecture from the University of Jordan and a master s degree in architecture from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology She completed an architectural internship with KEO International Consultants in Kuwait and held a research position at the Building Research Center of the Royal Scientific Society in Amman where she worked on the Jerusalem Database Project Joud Khasawneh is an architect and urban designer who served as a Design and Planning Officer at CSBE Her work at CSBE had concentrated on projects and research dealing with urban issues as well as green and energy efficient building technologies She holds a bachelor s degree in architecture from the Jordan University of Science and Technology and a master s degree in human settlements from the Katholieke Universiteit in Leuven Belgium where she also is working on her PhD dissertation in association with CSBE She worked as an architect at Dar Al Omran Architects Planners Engineers where she was involved in the design of several land use and master planning projects in Jordan Hania Maraqa is an architect and urban planner who served as a Research
