    assess and classify the leak as emergency or non emergency Emergency The leak negatively impacts the customer causes traffic hazard or environmental concern Non Emergency All other leaks 2 We call for utility locates and submit for city right of way permit Emergency Same Day Non Emergency Mandatory 72 hour waiting period 3 We excavate and make repair based on priority leak severity once locates are made 4 We compact the trench backfill and make a temporary roadway patch with gravel or asphalt to quickly restore traffic 5 We sub contract permanent patch work Per city regulations permanent patch must be made within 45 days Locates Call 811 before you dig We will respond within 72 hours to locate our underground infrastructure within the city right of way Sewer Stop Ups Please call 706 649 3400 to report a stop up or overflow How do we respond to a stop up or overflow We usually respond within one hour to correct any problem on the sewer main or portion of the service line within City Right of Way If the stop up is on private property or is due to debris in the lateral connection only it may be necessary for you to call a plumber Please don t pour grease down your drain It causes stop ups and may lead to an overflow or back up for you and or your neighbors Storm Water Systems vs Sanitary Sewage System If there is a clogged curb inlet or a storm water problem such as flooding then call the city at 311 The city is responsible for the Storm Water System The city is also responsible for the Combined Sewer System primarily located in the downtown and older mid town areas of the city The Combined Sewer System collects storm water

    Performance Work Plans which are strategic projects designed to create specific operational efficiencies and support the CWW mission goals and values In developing a strategic approach strategy teams will conduct a research of water and wastewater industry best practices and benchmarking as well as coordinate with operational departments to develop a plan to accomplish and implement the documented project By coordinating operational efforts the team ensures there is an alignment of resources to support the identified objectives and then creates a credible framework to track performance results Senior management provides general guidance and direct support in the implementation of the strategic initiatives and ultimately ensures these initiatives are fully integrated into CWW s departmental responsibilities This process results in the acceptance and deployment of successful and effective management improvements throughout the organization By utilizing teams comprised of a cross section of employees we have moved the implementation of our strategic initiatives to the front line The teams are afforded autonomy and empowerment to develop action plans and activities that will lead to a better organization The Department of Strategic Planning hosts and facilitates regularly scheduled meetings whereby selected members of the strategy teams report on the status of the teams activities to senior management These sessions create a platform for the teams to interact with the CWW leadership to seek guidance obtain approval for implementation of new projects and receive feedback and updates on organizational activities Says CWW President Steve Davis CWW s approach to strategic planning creates and instills a culture of inquisitive employees who ask the right questions and lead the organization to produce the right answers in a continuing effort to better serve our customers The overall responsibility for the Department of Strategic Planning is developing and disseminating company wide strategic communications coordinating strategic training for team

    is to serve our customers and users in a superb fashion by providing practical cost effective solutions and support to deliver information Anytime Anywhere to Anyone in the Amount required at the Accuracy level needed and expected where Anytime involves easy access and minimal downtime Anywhere includes work home and travel Anyone includes internal staff and external customers Amount must be appropriate and secure and Accuracy involves information that is reliable and trustworthy Staff Services The Information Services Department has a staff of 6 people dedicated to end user desktop support the implementation and support of applications network services server administration and telecommunication services The staff focuses on the following activities End User Desktop Support The IS staff maintains and provides helpdesk support for approximately 200 desktops and laptops Our staff responds to end user requests and performs repairs updates and deployments of software for all end user computers Implementation and Maintenance of Applications CWW has 46 applications running across the multiple work disciplines 19 of which are major enterprise level applications The IS staff is responsible for initial implementation on going maintenance and upgrades for these systems Server Maintenance and Support CWW has 33 servers that house the enterprise applications The IS Staff performs hardware maintenance administration and back up of all servers Network Services CWW has a benchmark of maintaining 99 9 up time on the data network The IS staff meets this requirement and manages the network connectivity between 7 CWW facilities located within Columbus and Fort Benning Telecommunications Services The IS staff is responsible for the telephone communications including voice mail call center tracking system and call accounting Application Administration The administration of applications is distributed to some degree at CWW among the various departments The IS staff performs administration for several enterprise applications including the
