    Stormer was most recently VP of Marketing and Business Development at TimeBridge a company that built web applications to help busy professionals schedule and run effective meetings TimeBridge was acquired by MerchantCircle in September Over his 20 year career in marketing and operations John has successfully launched leading edge consumer services in long distance telecom digital wireless communications and high speed Internet access at global corporations and early stage start ups Prior to TimeBridge John was SVP of worldwide marketing for Sendmail a leader in enterprise email security and collaboration Prior to Sendmail John was VP of marketing at NorthPoint Communications a national provider of DSL services where he was responsible for expanding its network to 30 metropolitan markets building a channel of more than 160 ISP partners and taking the company public in May 1999 Before NorthPoint John was the first director of consumer marketing at SprintPCS where he built its foundational marketing strategy John also held several director positions at Sprint Corporation John received an M B A from Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and a B A in history and economics from Westminster College in Fulton MO Bob Cheatham Bob Cheatham an East Bay resident with his wife Kay since 1969 joined the board in 2010 after 14 years of connection with Destiny Arts as a friend and avid supporter Bob recently retired after over 35 years of business law practice in San Francisco Bob has served on the board of directors of several youth oriented organizations including most recently as a board member and for several years board chair with Vision Youthz in San Francisco where he also volunteered as a counselor coach and mentor to inner city youth Currently Bob serves as a mentor with the Oremi mentoring program run by the Oakland based Family Support Services of the Bay Area Bob and his wife Kay have three grown children and 5 grandchildren all residing in the Bay area Dennis Smith Dennis Smith Esq has worked with public and nonprofit agencies for nearly twenty years as a director general counsel and financial analyst His experience across the sectors includes business planning and financial analysis budget projections financial monitoring and auditing legislative and regulatory analysis and policy development fraud and employment discrimination investigations legal and risk analysis program design and implementation and personnel and contract management Dennis has consulted with nonprofit organizations on topics such as federal and state nonprofit incorporation mergers asset liability acquisitions and corporate dissolutions Dennis served previously as Procurement Manager at the Oakland Private Industry Council where he had responsibility for administrative and financial oversight of over 8 million in annual contracts from the U S Department of Labor State of California Employment Development Department and the City of Oakland He was also responsible for programmatic planning compliance monitoring and the provision of technical assistance to over 50 community based non profit agencies Most recently Dennis was Director of Operations at the Youth Employment Partnership Inc YEP an award

    with individuals from many different backgrounds Empathetic to the challenges she saw others experience to actualize their true selves she was inspired to pursue a degree in Communications and Education from the University of California Berkeley so as to become a connector of people to people and people to their own destinies During her tenure with An Taisce Christina authored a manual for the Green Schools program which prepared young people to become better stewards of the earth through action and example As an Outreach Manager for the California Youth Energy Services program she was able to connect over 600 young people on a path to higher education career building and community service She hopes to continue this work at Destiny Arts to empower more young people to find their voice and their place in this world In her free time Christina enjoys finding new hiking trails with her partner and dog Buddy and having trained in Ballet many moons ago she is eager to dust off her old dancing shoes and learn from instructors and students all that Destiny has to offer Nasim Razavi Business Manager Email Nasim Born in Iran Nasim moved to the East Bay with her family at the age of 11 and was instantly inspired by the melting pot of cultures and communities that existed here In 2014 she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Health Education from San Francisco State University The majority of her studies focused on Community Based Public Health fueling her passion for health equity and social justice Before joining Destiny Nasim embarked on an internship with the UCSF Athena Breast Health Network a collaboration between all five U C medical centers to create quality breast health care for all women In her spare time Nasim enjoys photography travelling and hanging out at Classic car shows with her best friend and fiance Josiah She is beyond excited to be a part of the Destiny family Joy Tang Grants Manager Email Joy Joy Tang started out with a B A in English and took a position through Teach For America teaching high school English and ESL in inner city Houston But as fate would have it a fellow teacher introduced her to Salsa dancing and her passion and curiosity for the form spiraled her out of the classroom and into UC Berkeley s Folklore Master s program There she drafted a treatise on experienced freedom as the follower within Salsa s coupled form Joy also performed and trained for a number of years on the Bay Area Salsa circuit In short Joy has occupied a unique position at the corners of urban education academia and community driven dance and very concretely understands that addressing violence and isolation through the body is where it s at She is thrilled to be a staff member at Destiny Arts Center and is daily inspired by the creative compassionate and motivated professionals who surround her Jennifer Cates Donor Engagement Manager Email Jennifer Jennifer has spent

    also danced with UCLA ACA UCLA Samahang Modern DVS Five 10 Ronnie Reddick s La Femme Panache and Nicole Klaymoon s Embodiment Project She is a teacher mentor artist and choreographer that works not only with adults but youth of all ages She is currently pursuing a career in Nutrition and Dietetics Personal Health and Fitness She teaches a weekly House dance class at ODC in SF and is also the Founder Director for the Oakland youth Hip Hop dance nutrition focused group The GroovLings JenAy also teaches Cardio Hip Hop House for adults Saturday mornings 10 11 at Destiny Drop in class great for all levels Julia Kosivchuk Martial Arts Instructor From the city of Chertnivsti in Ukraine Julia Kosivchuk s martial arts training and teaching experience stretches back to her home She practices Sin Syobu karate a style that combines the standards of Shotokan karate Jiu Jitsu self defense techniques full contact sparring rules and yoga stretching methods Julia taught at her own club Tikara until 2004 when she moved to the U S Here she continued teaching karate at a number of organizations including private clubs Boys and Girls club Oakland Asian Education Students Services Julia has been teaching karate at the main site and several project locations of the Destiny Arts Center since 2006 Besides teaching Julia Kosivchuk is an artist a poet a songwriter and a mother Kate Hobbs Head Martial Arts Instructor Co Founder Sifu teacher Kate Hobbs is the founder of Destiny Arts Center along with Anthony Daniels and returns to Destiny to run the martial arts programs this year Sifu Kate holds the rank of fifth degree Black Belt in the Gaylord Method of Kajukenbo Kung Fu She was awarded her first degree black belt in 1991 by the late Professor Coleen Gragen who promoted her through third degree black belt She gratefully received her fifth degree promotion from Professor Barbara Bones in 2008 She currently studies Chi Gung Tai Chi and Northern Shaolin Kung Fu under Sifu Michelle Dwyer Sifu Kate has spent much of her time as a Black Belt focusing on how martial arts can help young people face the violence and injustice they encounter with power and intelligence She has worked on curriculum for community based and school based programs that teach specific tools for conflict resolution violence prevention and community building for youth aged three to eighteen She is also the founder and Chief Martial Arts Instructor of Oakland Kajukenbo Kirah Caminos Salsa Dance Instructor Kirah J Caminos MNA has served as Director of her own bilingual Spanish family daycare in Oakland acted as Director of a First Five Center in Contra Costa and served as program director for multiple youth and family service agencies throughout the Bay Area and New York As a former Peace Corps volunteer overseas she has also enjoyed engaging in community service projects and activities abroad Growing up in the lower east side of Manhattan raised by a musical family and being
