    delivered 200 browns in the 10 11 size and 10 rainbows in the 17 18 size Some fish were bucketed to the mud hole and the sycamore hole The rest were distributed throughout the lower fly stretch We are thankful to The Sporting Gentleman for their contribution to purchase the larger fish Also many thanks to the Ray Neirle South Jersey Chapter for a generous donation to this stocking event

    nice mountain streams and a beautiful mountain pond We fished the upper 2 mile section of private water and the lower 2 mile public section catch release fly fishing only of Conewago Creek The private section held rainbows browns brookies All three species were caught mostly on a pink san juan worm with sizes ranging from 12 to 18 The public section also held the same species of trout but with slightly larger sizes We also got to fish a beautiful well managed private 2 3 acre pond with all native fish Most of the brookies browns and rainbows averaged in the 20 range Everyone who fished the pond caught plenty of fish using a dry fly with a size 20 zebra midge nymph dropper Personally I caught a 20 brookie which bent my 5 weight mid flex 8 6 rod in half my knots held the rod didn t break and I landed a memory that I will never forget We also got to fish a private section of the west branch of the Conocoheague creek Again everyone was able to catch fish and the scenery around the stream was breath taking It was definitely worth the drive and

    declining attendance in recent years Putting on this event has been a learning experience for the past couple of years and this year was no different Still it was a great success and everyone seemed to enjoy the meal We should have taken a picture when everyone was eating but we were all too busy digging in to think of it Read more 2015 Stream Cleanup On Saturday April 18th DMTU volunteers participated in the annual CRC Stream Cleanup along Chester Creek in Aston PA Our usual site was in use so we cleaned a section farther downstream Jennifer Nichols was our CRC site coordinator Our guys filled six bags of trash and pulled four tires from the stream plus other assorted larger items The weather was good and we attended the CRC picnic at Ridley Park afterward Women s Fly Fishing Day On Saturday April 11 2015 the Delaware Valley Women s Fly Fishing Association in cooperation with Delaware County Field and Stream held and all day festival of everything fly fishing for women and girls interested in learning about fly fishing Members of DMTU turned out to assist with individual casting instruction and on stream practice in Chester

    Township asked the Chester Ridley Crum Watersheds Assocation CRC to organize the cleanup and CRC Executive Director Anne Murphy in turn asked DMTU to assist The cleanup took place on Satuday September 11th and was a great success The pile of debris removed from the creek included 28 tires 3 drums a rowboat a cement trash can washing machine parts and a kitchen sink A lot of what was removed
