    wir einen Erfahrungsaustausch darüber wie wir Europäer uns tatsächlich gegenseitig sehen Sei es durch Bühnenkunst visuelle Kunst Literatur oder andere Sparten durch das Hinausgehen aus den Städten wollen wir den Wert von Kunst und Kulturpartizipation und das Verständnis von Normalbürgern unterstützen Dies ist wertvoll für den Aufbau tragender kultureller Säulen wie sie für die Erfüllung der in Brüssel gesetzten politischen Ziele so dringend nötig sind Die Vision Die Überwindung von Angst Widerständen und Vorurteilen stellt für uns alle eine große Herausforderung dar Wir möchten dass dieser Verein einen interaktiven kultureller Dialog zwischen den europäischen Nachbarn eröffnet mit dem Wunsch eine europäische Identität zu schaffen die sowohl das vorhandene nationale als auch das sich schrittweise entwickelnde gesamteuropäische Bewusstsein umfasst Durch Festivals und Aktionen die von behutsamer und menschlicher Interaktion geprägt sind soll dies erreicht werden Mit der Einbindung von Künstlern Meinungsbildnern Medien öffentlichen und privaten Sponsoren und vor allem durch die Einbindung der Bürger in allen europäischen Ländern sollen diese Aktivitäten zu ein einer größeren Offenheit und gelebter europäischer Nachbarschaftlichkeit führen Kunst und Kultur sollen als Einladung zur Weiterentwicklung und Aneignung des Respekts voreinander für das was wir sind Die Entstehungsgeschichte Seit einigen Jahren treffen sich jeden Sommer Künstler und kunstinteressierte Menschen aus vielen europäischen Ländern in der französischen Normandie Über das Kennenlernen und den Gedankenaustausch hinaus entstanden kulturelle und künstlerische Fragestellungen und Themen die im Laufe der Jahre in gemeinsamen Ausstellungen Events und Aktionen mündeten Stets waren die Menschen der Region fest eingebunden Durch die Begegnung mit Kunst und Künstlern aus ganz Europa entstand bei der lokalen Bevölkerung von Anfang an auch ein großes Interesse an der Auseinandersetzung mit dem Thema Europa Ermutigt durch den großen Erfolg dieser kleinen Initiative entwickelte sich die Idee des European House of Arts Ein multikulturelles und interdisziplinäres Kunst und Kulturprojekt European House of Arts

    corners of Europe The rehearsals began and the ship took on a different form of rockin The Whitsun weekend passers by were attracted by these new comers on their beat The first festival day began quiet with room to get used to the style of living eating working and travelling together a whole month of theater music literature and dance started to take place The old factory in the centre of Frankfurts famous cider mile is now full of art exhibitions from Bekir Smolski from White Rusia and Patrick Mangnus from the Netherlands Oil paintings with a wonderful transparancy in direct contrast to the installations portraying cheeky messages about Europe Workshops in dance and art were quiet on the first day but then on the second day a group of primary school children came along and wore everybody out what a fantastic day The work between the official and innoficial offices in Frankfurt in support of the Culture Trail was at all times at a high level of open communication Private people gave what they could and some of Frankfurt s oldest companies contributed toward the success in Frankfurt The last of the festival events was a buzzing world music
