at one time One must keep in mind that we are talking about a vibrational threshold for having the remedy enter your energetic system as opposed to a given quantity of material substance in the manner that we typically think of in terms of a medication The maintenance of flower essence doses varies with each individual and intensity of the situation 4 drops 4 times a day is the basic standard However our 25 years of research shows effectiveness with less frequency in many clients i e only twice a day On the other hand emergency states or acute situations require frequent doses in order to stabilize the client typically once per hour during the most acute phase I personally tend to favor a slower more incremental approach to absorption of flower essences and in many situations recommend dosing twice a day One reason for this is that many lead such hectic lives there may be only two reasonably open portals in the soul life of most typical clients first thing in the morning and last thing before going to sleep Also most modern medical healing as well as general lifestyle habits in the modern world bypass deeper soul process

  • Animal Relief Work
before I got here I now know I don t know very much at all THEN CAME RITA Volunteers were forced to evacuate all but a skeleton crew of 10 persons for each of the five barns remained That was my first of six field promotions How is staying behind a promotion Hundreds of volunteers were put on buses and evacuated 50 miles north Several did not want to leave and were told to use permanent marker and write their social security numbers on their forearms That is when it got very real Those of us remaining were trying to be brave we knew what we might be in for and so we took Mimulus flower essence along with Yarrow which helped us deal with our fears Mimulus Yarrow There were tornadoes 70 mph wind and sideways rain while all the animals remained eerily quiet The animals were what we were able to concentrate on giving them time and attention They were walked cleaned fed and watered up to 3 times every day THE REMEDIES Kerry Jennifer Linda Rachel and Johanna gathered at the house before I left and we put together the most awesome flower essence and homeopathic remedy called The Shelter Blend Iroquois Sweetgrass Gorse Arnica 12 000 GrandFathers stones from the alpine tundra of the Rocky Mountains and Yarrow for hope comfort acceptance and empowerment When I started my first volunteer shift in Gonzales I put several bottles in my pockets and when the dogs water was changed I d add one spritz to the bowl That drew the attention of one woman who was quite verbal and questioned my actions she gave me the chance to explain myself and others an opportunity to notice the change in the animals Within the first 90 minutes I timed it someone yelled out We need some SPRAYS over here We have a stressed out dog Then I heard This one s not eating Bring me some SPRAYS Will it help them drink more Will they be less afraid if we use them And on and on Within one day our barn 250 dogs was the most settled quietest and our workers the least stressed There was a puppy that wouldn t eat until I forced a few drops of blends into his mouth and also an older dehydrated dog that finally started drinking on her own after remedies were lightly smooshed onto her back I gave Aspen photo at right to every little quaking dog I encountered The dogs went in and out of their cages without incident I believe because of the Yarrow in the formula given to them We could not physically change their environments and it helped them to feel more comfortable Also the remedies kept the volunteers emotionally intact enough to keep coming back and not burn out Those who did not partake of them burnt out and left early Your generous donations which also included vaccines colostrum immune building blends and all your good

  • Practitioner Profile: Steven Horne
when I leave here According to Steven Another guinea pig they chose was the woman I was married to at the time My wife started many craft projects but seldom finished them They gave her Tansy flower essence which is for procrastination but again didn t tell her what it was or what it was for To my amazement during the next two weeks my wife completed about 6 7 projects that had been laying around for years Several times when conducting these experiments the subjects described their effects in words similar to that of the written flower essence descriptions Tansy A hair dresser whom Steven knows said to him Everyday when I work on women s hair they tell me their problems and by the end of day I go home depressed Steven gave her Yarrow and just days later she walked into his office beaming and said It worked I listen I empathize with them but when they walk out the door their problems walk out with them In general Steven recommends Yarrow and Pink Yarrow for healers citing the example of a woman who was so empathetic it literally made her sick The Yarrow essences allowed her to remain effective as a healer while not taking on her patients dis eases The Tree of Life a blueprint for health A friend introduced Steven to the Hebrew Tree of Life also known as the Kabbala He was intrigued and pondered how it might apply to the healing work he had been doing that acknowledged and incorporated the seven chakra system of energy Eventually he saw how the model fit with the human body but with twelve emotional energy centers as he calls them and it became his guide to understanding healing work He has been utilizing this approach to healing Emotional Anatomy a phrase he utilized well before the work of Caroline Myss became popularly known for 19 years with great reliability Steven has since related many flower essences to those centers utilizing kinesiology with his patients to know which of them is blocked and which essence should be used to help process through the blocks Steven will explain to patients who are learning about flower essences for the first time that a flower essence brings the vibration of the plant to the healing relationship and that it is not a physical substance We re not just physical beings emotion is an energy a particular vibration for instance when you walk into a room where two people have just had an argument or if you re in the presence of a supremely loving person you can feel the energy Plants have frequencies of vibration that match emotional frequencies and they stimulate our awareness Oftentimes to begin a session with a patient Steven will place their hand over his then run his hand over the bottles of essences It will occur to him to select one or more of them and then he reads out loud the descriptions of

  • to be more loving kind passionate and find inner peace and that s what flower essences help with Because of my experience with the attitudinal healing process I come from a perspective which is different from the traditional approach I just see our commonalities as human beings knowing that we re all on the same path An alternative to chemical medication The effects of the flower essences are often very subtle unlike pharmaceutical drugs that tend to have more immediate noticeable effects Dr Pappas carefully explains the differences between essences and medications such as tranquilizers because clients might not know how to recognize their impact The essences just have a different way of working in the system Not only is the effect different but how one experiences them is different than with a drug as well The way one might know that essences are working would be to wake up one day realizing Gee I didn t think about that yesterday or I m not worrying about that today Or one might put aside a dosage bottle only to find themselves feeling miserable again In general Dr Pappas begins by offering flower essence therapy as an alternative to medications saying let s see how it works how it feels but if you must go on to using medication I still suggest using flower essences in conjunction with it She has found that clients needing antidepressants can take smaller doses by combining them with flower essence therapy They have a calming effect especially for those with depression and anxiety Flower essences come to mind right away and I offer them immediately to anxious or depressed clients They work so well particularly if we can keep them away from medications The essences give them something to take the edge off and think clearly Many people have become disillusioned with using mind altering drugs that cause side effects and for them Dr Pappas has found that flower essences can be an excellent alternative The essences used with a client are chosen in a variety of ways Sometimes Dr Pappas will begin with a questionnaire deciding which essences to take a closer look at Other times she will turn to the Flower Essence Repertory researching the issues under consideration and work together with the client to decide which essences are appropriate She often just decides intuitively which essences to use based on what she perceives the person needs at the moment Case studies and key remedies Many people come to counseling when they are experiencing some type of transition such as divorce Dr Pappas finds Walnut to be a good solid essence for the therapeutic process Walnut Lily transforming family trauma and despair A young woman who d had a difficult family background came to see Dr Pappas for therapy Lily was astute knowledgeable and evolved in her thinking She experienced extreme sensitivity and had difficulty with relationships Lily had moments of deep despair because of her incredible deep and intense emotionality and sensitivity

  • Dr. Cora Llera
there is a specific essence the patient should take home and use to continue the transformation process When asking whether there is a flower essence whose own characteristics are representative of the patient s problem Dr Llera tests blindly If a patient actually happens to have a purely physical problem flower essences will not show up in this testing process If a remedy shows up as being one that is the best reflection of the cause behind a person s problem she will read about it aloud from the Flower Essence Repertory Often she sees the patients eyes light up and they will reflect that they recognize the pattern described as occurring in their lives Sometimes the flower essences found during the testing process don t represent the quality of the problem experienced by a patient but rather represent the quality of energy that is needed to transform the problem Dr Llera puts the essence on her hands while doing the body work therefore bringing the needed positive quality of an essence and energy directly to the problem area Dr Llera collects case studies of patients whose stories she finds interesting some of which are featured in her book Signature Energy Work Accessing Evaluating and Transforming the Personal Energy Field Read a review of the book here Following is a story concerning one of Dr Llera s patients A beautiful 24 year old woman who was 100 pounds overweight came to Dr Llera s office complaining of neck and lower back pain Following the first session her neck pain was alleviated She returned to see Dr Llera because the lower back pain persisted She stated that it had been chronic for as long as she could remember and it had never responded to any kind of treatment That was a sign to Dr Llera that something was going on beyond the physical level Dr Llera muscle tested the patient s lower back area and found that it was depleted in energy and further needed a particular quality of energy related to the patient s father This energy was best represented by Yarrow flower essence The questioning also indicated a block represented by Rock Rose flower essence that resisted the Yarrow quality Dr Llera explained the qualities of Yarrow in regard to strength and protection how the patient s back needed that energy and specifically needed it to come from her father She put the Yarrow on her hands worked the muscles and the young woman began to cry She said that at age 12 her parents divorced and she and her siblings lived one month with their father then one month with their mother alternately moving every month and causing much turmoil in their lives In addition the patient looks like her mother and the father put the rancor he felt toward her mother toward her instead Overall it was very difficult and she finally found the courage to tell her father it was all too much and she wanted

  • Book Review: Signature Energy Work
at the spiritual level by altering how we pursue the themes and purpose of our life Our physical body lies within the energy body which is composed of the emotional mental and spiritual bodies and is constantly influenced by its energies And because these energies are not in physical form they fluctuate and change as our thoughts feelings and self understanding change In addition these energies have an effect on the people who come into contact with our field Research indicates that the human energy field extends anywhere from a few inches to several feet away from our physical body each of our thoughts and beliefs each of our habitual emotional reactions gives off its own characteristic energy frequency Anyone who enters our energy field can feel it These signature frequencies can be measured scientifically and can be seen psychically The sum total of all of the electromagnetic signatures of every thought feeling and belief that we have ever had as well as the signature frequencies of every organ tissue cell and molecule in our physical structure are what make up our energy field You can easily see that the result is a distinctly different energetic pattern for each human being a pattern as unique as our fingerprint or our handwriting This overall pattern is what identifies us as individuals it s our signature in the universal language of energy I call it our signature energy Most of Dr Llera s book is devoted to a detailed description of the protocol involved in utilizing Signature Energy Work It begins with identifying the core question which the healing work will address what is the problem that needs to be solved or the understanding that needs to be gained at this time Applied Kinesiology used for decades to determine subjective truth is central to the process of discovering the core answer to this question To work with the various energy levels one must have a communication technique to access the energetic qualities of the necessary information Dr Llera studied many muscle testing systems and questioning protocols and devised what she considers to be a simplified version that has worked efficiently for her The result is a comfortably simple but reasonably comprehensive line of questions that I call the SEW signature energy work LINE of questioning Dr Llera states The work of Signature Energy Work is about moving and transforming energy We can analyze the energy with the SEWLINE questions bringing to our conscious attention as many of the qualities of the answer s energetic signature as possible that is a habitual pattern of thoughts feelings actions and or beliefs that is limiting us in some way and is presenting itself for change We can literally change the form of this pattern by replacing it with a new pattern based on the energy of the core answer If according to our understanding of quantum physics everything is energy and takes on physical form only according to our observation of the energy how we

with the Ayurvedic doctor who suggested a massage with oils and herbs selected specifically for me The massage was a beautiful experience with two practitioners massaging at the same time synergistically Then the most beautiful part was when they slowly poured warmed oil onto my forehead and worked it into my hair The phrase from Psalm 23 Thou anointeth my head with oil has new meaning for me It was such a spiritual blessing to me that tears of joy flowed from me as they continued to anoint my head for 20 minutes After the massage shower and shampoo they brought me a small cup of herbal tea blended again specifically for me It actually tasted great and I wished that the cup had been bigger I will never forget that experience and intend to explore and learn more about Ayurvedic Medicine Another surprise was that Deepa took us on an overnight train ride to southwest India to experience a safari in the National Forest I was thrilled to see wild elephants monkeys birds and many other animals but alas I didn t get to see a tiger only the tiger s print in the mud The jeep before us did get to see the tiger oh well I got to ride on an elephant and a camel The camel was surprisingly comfortable to ride on Bonnie and Pam riding a camel I also visited with alternative healers while I was in Chennai visited a large Hindu Temple visited a beautiful Yoga Ashram another Ashram in Pondicherry and visited the international township of Auroville These were all inspiring and expanding experiences for me yet the most important experience and message I personally received happened on the second day of my time in India As the Foundation staff were making final arrangements for the workshop Deepa s husband Suresh took Pam and I down the coast to a cultural center On the way we could see the ocean the Bay of Bengal better than we could see it when we were in the city Both of us wanted to step into the ocean Suresh could see our desire and attempted to find and road to get us close enough to walk to the beach We found one after several unsuccessful attempts The ocean was only a few blocks from the main road so we drove until we came to the sand When we opened the car door the heat hit us like a blazing furnace It was over 100 degrees and 90 humidity Along with the heat I heard a piercing sound that I couldn t figure out I immediately put on my sandals after Pam burnt her feet being the first one out of the car As we walked toward the ocean I kept hearing that unrecognizable sound I wondered if it were birds screeching in the trees I asked What is that sound We were all trying to figure it out Then Suresh said A dog has littered I

  • Mariposa Lily - a remedy for the trauma associated with adoption
exception to this Always always any conversation that turns to the subject of family is like a gut punch and takes extreme mental effort to override Which brings me back to my conversation with Patricia she as a trained healer observed my reactions as I spoke about being adopted for the pain held in my voice always betrays my outer composure She took note Later she spoke about a remedy with which she has worked closely Mariposa Lily developed by FES in 1985 She reported that the flower had talked to her about being a flower whose bulb remained safely rooted between protective rocks yet whose flower grew brightly and thrust boldly over the rocks I confess to being overwhelmed and I do not remember her exact words Yet Patricia inspires trust and her compassion towards me was evident I took her up on her offer to provide me with a bottle of Mariposa Lily essence She prescribed a dosage of four drops every morning for and here she took her pendulum out and inquired as the months that would be required one two three six months The length of the treatment time seemed to surprise her but I smiled with irony for I knew the depth of the emotional trauma that she was proposing to treat I began the treatment the next day and have taken the remedy every day since Nine days later I was attending the Yizkor portion of Yom Kippur services a Jewish commemoration to the dead Much of the service deals with the endless flow of life from ancestors long past that will continue through us into the future Obviously this is a difficult experience for all that have lost loved ones but for me who never knew them in the first place it is particularly painful Yet this year there was no reaction none So subtle was this change that I did not notice the absence of the usual angst until after the Yom Kippur service had concluded and the congregates were breaking their fast Laughing and joking we noshed and replenished ourselves after our twenty seven hour fast The usual questions were exchanged between strangers and I fielded a few about my family It was then that I noticed that I answered the questions in a matter of fact voice even making a small joke I paused I observed I went out onto an outside balcony and stood looking over the vista I deliberately poked at my psyche I was curious about why I was not reacting to a lifetime issue I dredged up a memory guaranteed to have an impact here s what I noticed a small poke in the gut Just that a little twinge and the serenity of calm balance I probed a bit farther and realized that there was some sadness but it was distant and far away The reaction was appropriate to a loss that had happened in the distant past and had been appropriately mourned I wondered
