  • the Bach Centre over the past fifteen years or so represents a pretty radical departure from the philosophy of Dr Bach and indeed the philosophy embraced by his immediate successors Nora Weeks and Victor Bullen It seems to me that their attitude was to make the Remedies available as widely as possible While I do not think that they would have been attracted to the idea of people cashing in on the Remedies in the sense of making large profits out of manufacturing and selling them they were certainly not concerned with ensuring that the Bach Centre was seen as the main let alone the exclusive source of either the manufacture or the sale of the Remedies or that it should try and prevent other organisations from using the name Bach The 119 page court ruling was the result of an eight day trial after a legal suit initiated by Julian Barnard of Healing Herbs Ltd Barnard explained We did not go into this with any intent to damage the business of the Nelsons Group We simply wanted to be able to provide those interested in buying and using the Flower Remedies with a choice and the freedom to describe them as what they are The suit was brought by Healing Herbs after a number of educational institutions in England and around the world were threatened with law suits for offering classes on the Bach Flower Remedies without permission of the Bach Centre Legal threats were also made directly to the Healing Herbs company The High Court agreed with the contention that Bach Flower Remedies is a generic term meaning flower remedies prepared in accordance with the teachings of Dr Bach and since they can be prepared by anybody they cannot in principle constitute a badge of origin that is

  • Recovery from Depression and Panic Attack
a deeper level of Melissa s core identity At this time there were still some vulnerability issues and fears of social contact with others She was especially concerned about the opinion that other people had about her While using Joshua Tree and Mountain Pride Melissa gained a different point of view She was not interested in somebody else s opinion any more She reported that she felt a sense of being centered with a different source of strength She was entirely conscious of this soul force as though a new person within her was now acting She described steering her own boat in the sea of life She also reported that barriers towards others were still present but not as in the past When Melissa started therapy it was very hard for her to talk with me for two hours I still remember her suffering while conversing with me She gave straight and short answers to my questions She can now express herself in a very different way She makes detailed colorful reports about her life She shows a high degree of emotional articulation with a capacity to make an in depth analysis of her situation Melissa is no longer the fragile uncertain young girl I used to know She has a strong identification with her Self rather than with external forces While talking about Joshua Tree Melissa reported that once she was as variable as the wind and let things carry her away Now Joshua Tree was her anchor to the Earth and the means by which she could feel her grounding She was now able to enjoy the daily events of her life and could see her future more clearly This new being shines through Melissa s face and relaxed posture Her voice conveys tranquillity and communicates an

and relaxed attitude A series of four different formulas were given to help Adriano address his emotional situation For example Agrimony photo at right was a key remedy in the beginning stages to help him remove the emotional mask and to learn to talk openly about his feelings Over a five month interval there were many transformations His relationships with others began to change including a more active social life and meeting other women He developed an expanded artistic life and an awakened sense of spiritual direction As these changes manifested Joshua Tree was then selected as a single remedy to integrate Adriano s human and spiritual identity as a comprehensive entity Upon using the Joshua Tree Adriano described feelings that were utterly new even having a quality of strangeness He was able to enter into a different perception of himself and feel who he really is He discovered a dawning soul consciousness that brought joy and smiling even when it could not be understood rationally Adriano has changed a great deal since the beginning of therapy He is now a more lively person who enjoys conversation He goes dancing on Saturdays and has regular friends that he sees often Since he started Joshua Tree Adriano operates from a higher level of himself reporting that he has no fears because he can see through them He feels a deep communication with the spiritual world that was not previously accessible to him Joshua Tree has fostered a completely new way of helping Adriano to understand and observe himself He was not conscious of the Soul Self level at the beginning of the work because he could not perceive it During his therapy Adriano contacted his spiritual self and brought it into dialogue with the rest of his life expression These aspects

the flower was easing these states 03 08 02 Going back to work Joshua let the daily difficulties come up I could not accept falsity or unfairness among colleagues as well a the lack of respect for one s own personality These situations made me very nervous impulsive I nearly lost my temper as I did not accept what was happening 04 09 02 It has been really a difficult period Maybe the most difficult I lived as in a depressive state I felt very uncommunicative I did not feel like talking I felt scared of anything I was crying very often without a real reason I did not like myself and I did not like what was around me 21 09 02 I have started feeling Joshua as a friend a life companion At the beginning I took the other flower essences regularly with precision but with little intimacy With Joshua Tree this was different I could feel it was really mine 10 11 02 I have spent 15 days without taking Joshua Tree I was not worried but I missed it I was aware of a certain fixation towards smells and cleanliness 23 11 02 After taking Joshua Tree for one week I had dreams every night there were often many scenarios with different people I still felt like crying a strong feeling as I felt the oppressive judgement of the other people 19 12 02 I have started having bad thoughts and I was very sad I often had dreams with water sea river swimming pool connected to the fear of drowning 19 01 03 Many things have changed and I have not realized this fact In the evening when I tell my husband about some events of the day I do not realize that what I

  • "As if a Tree Was Taking Root, Clearing the Ground"
taking root clearing the ground and removing the pebbles to reach a favourable condition of growth My strong ties with childhood events that had influenced my growth crumbled little by little until they were no longer a burden I felt I was a single individual and not just the synthesis of my existential issues I became aware of being self centered and not merely a bystander As for my personal relationships I have noted that I have started to relate to others with a fresh beginning and to break old social schemes For several months while using the Joshua Tree I had sensations of uneasiness I associated these with the beginning of a crisis that results in renewal For example when a volcano begins to smoke the first landslides can be perceived Then the lava comes out and there is a renewal As for the body I have noted improvement in the muscular tone I am less tired and I feel stronger as if I were a tree I have managed to give a meaning to the fears within me I am now ready to receive them with the total mental clarity My position towards others is no longer submissive I feel separate from those who have a different energy from my own Instead I am concentrating my attention on my expectations and needs I feel a strong need to depart from my family unit for creating something new leaving all influences and conditioning behind Another positive issue I have noted is the ability to perceive what I do not like about me As well I have realized some aspects of my personality that I previously believed I would not be able to manifest Spiritually I have noted a deeper awareness of my individuality yet it includes being a part

  • Helping an Adopted Child
From the time of her adoption Andressa did not talk easily either about her past in Brazil or her family Now Andressa began to tell about her family including the violence of her father and her mother who had many male friends As these feelings and memories become more conscious her initial aggressiveness towards her adopted father disappeared When one of the nuns associated with the Brazilian orphanage came to Italy Andressa wanted to investigate more details about her family and she wanted to know how many brothers and sisters she had After a further time using Joshua Tree Andressa began to show feelings of anger and rebellion that concerned her parents I needed to explain to Andressa s adopted mother that it was necessary and healthy for Andressa to express those feelings We discontinued Joshua Tree to work on the presenting issues but eventually we will need to return to Joshua Tree Andressa s previous family ties will have to be healed to set her free and enable her to express herself completely Otherwise she will remain a prisoner of her anger and fear for the rest of her life Recovery from Depression and Panic Attack Healing Emotional Isolation

  • and excitement Perhaps because the areas of Sendai along the seacoast were affected by the tsunami and because of daily aftershocks and the closeness to Fukushima the downtown area appeared to be shrouded in dark gloomy air I sensed the residents feelings of anxiety about the uncertain future The morning following the festival we took part in the 6 AM service held at Chusonji Temple in Iwate Prefecture Needless to say we all prayed for the region s swift reconstruction and comfort for the souls of the deceased We also prayed that we could carry out activities to help with the recovery efforts The Chusonji Temple was surrounded by clean crisp morning air and we spent a pleasant time there Like Tokyo the temple was located about 200 km from the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant so the people there were not too concerned about radiation Although its distance from the nuclear power plant is about the same as Tokyo s it seemed that the residents awareness of nuclear power generation and radiation differed from that of Tokyo This seemed to be because of the tsunami damage that occurred in nearby regions has not yet been resolved and because the residents took the problem of the tsunami disaster very seriously as if it was their own I asked the temple s head priest about the situation in disaster stricken areas Chusonji Temple sends many of its young priests to disaster affected areas every day to engage in various relief activities including removal of rubble If I and my staff were to carry out volunteer activities to provide physical and mental care to disaster victims using flower essences aromatherapy and other methods which region should we start with first To be able to carry out volunteer activities I needed to understand the actual situation at various local areas The head priest told me that the city of Rikuzentakata in Iwate Prefecture and the town of Minamisanriku in Miyagi Prefecture had vast areas of flatland so they were washed away entirely by the tsunami leaving only mountains of rubble Although a majority of the rubble had been removed no one was living there since there were no buildings The damage however was considerably severe The city of Kesennuma in Miyagi Prefecture also had some collapsed buildings left but there were many places where people could not live The damage was also extensive so the priest said that it would be nice if we could provide care to the residents in both areas After hearing what the head priest said we immediately left for the region hoping to visit different areas The city of Kesennuma had a considerable number of damaged buildings still remaining Some were collapsed making it almost impossible to live in them Perhaps because the collapsed houses cannot be removed like rubble they had remained there uninhabited We went to slightly higher ground and found a municipal office The office provided information on evacuation shelters and had a desk for receiving contributions We signed up as volunteers Perhaps because they have already accommodated a large number of people who wished to do volunteer work and came to sign up as volunteers the staff members were all extremely polite and responded to me with kindness and a genuine sense of caring Although I went there to heal other people I felt as if I was healed by the people at the municipal office We were referred to and immediately went to a volunteer center in Tanaka District that oversaw the temporary housing units located at 35 sites in Kesennuma City After filling out the volunteer registration form entering my qualifications and personal profile I explained to the staff members about our work and what sort of volunteer activities we could do This is how volunteer work becomes possible residents of evacuation centers and temporary housing make a request for things they want done Those who want to do volunteer work inform the staff members about what they can do rather than what they want to do and wait for suitable requests to come in If there are requests which the volunteers can fulfill they accept them I told the staff members that I was an aromatherapist and a lecturer that I worked as a flower essence counselor gave lectures and taught at various schools that I was an international Chinese medicine doctor and an international Chinese medicinal manager and that I was also a chiropractor I conveyed to them that if there are requests I d be happy to provide seminars or treatments massage on any of the topics I had studied or practiced to date I also told them that along with those activities I intended to recommend flower essence treatment and care Since none of the staff members seemed to know about flower essences I explained to them about how they could be used A variety of aromatherapy products and other items were being sent to the Volunteer Center from all over Japan Even though they had aromatherapy products and flower essences they could not be used unless one knew how to use them In order for phytotherapy to be effectively used in disaster stricken areas as well as in Japan it is essential for us to teach the methods of using these valuable items I felt that we needed opportunities and activities to make this happen Members of the Volunteer Center were extremely pleasant to talk to although they must have been extremely busy with their daily volunteer activities They treated me with kindness and respect The way they responded to me from the heart was something that people in Tokyo may have already forgotten I felt as if I was the one that was healed by such kindness The staff members told me that since the disaster victims seemed to prefer massage if they ever requested our services it would most likely be for massage therapy The members then asked me for details about activities including about how

  • Volunteer aid workers use flower essences in the aftermath of disaster
sites I tire easily if I provide acupuncture chiropractic and aromatherapy so I m a little concerned but is it all right She told me numerous times about her worries so I reassured her that temporary housing units were not dangerous Her worries kept growing so I suggested that she take flower essences to calm down However she said that her feelings were not serious enough to do that I myself was dubious about letting her enter the disaster affected areas in such an unstable anxious state In view of her age and experience however she was most likely able to deal calmly with many people and since Seasons of the Soul herbal oils were used for hand treatment I concluded that things would turn out okay and asked her to accompany us She too said that the tour was completely different from what she had imagined before her departure and did not get tired at all far from it she reportedly had a wonderfully pleasant experience When we happened to visit a certain Shinto shrine to worship the head priest said Ironically the earthquake and the tsunami taught the Japanese people the spirit of caring for and helping each other the people regained such spirit Through everyone whom I happened to meet at this site I too learned with my heart what form the spiritual contacts between people should ideally take You truly touch each other I m sure that learning of the heart is about situations such as this We try to become aware of something only with our heads instead of our hearts we also regard the heart as a thinking tool I believe that perceiving the energy field is about studies such as this Standing on the grounds of the Tohoku region we learned a lot from the people there as well as from the earth On our way back we had planned to visit the Rikuzentakata Volunteer Center to connect this visit to the next one However the city office did not offer services for volunteer work Since we did not know where the Volunteer Center was we tried to ask the passers by Unfortunately no one was around so we stopped by temporary houses that were erected on the school grounds There was no one outside the house We spotted a man who appeared to be living there carrying a small child and standing outside so we asked him who the leader of the temporary housing unit was The man did not seem to know and instead told us where the Volunteer Center was We returned to our car and fetched a sample of Rescue Spray and Cream and a brochure of flower essences to give to the child The man told us that we could visit these temporary houses one by one and give out samples So I discussed with my colleagues who had accompanied me on this tour how we should carry out our activities the next time Removal of rubble seemed
