    Minutes Site Map Website Disclaimer News Main Email Alerts News Archive Send Link Print Home Township News Pennsylvanians urged to sign up for lifesaving programs Posted 5 29 2013 8 29 AM In recognition of National Emergency Medical Services Week PennDot encourages state residents to sign up for two free programs They are the Yellow Dot and Emergency Contact Information programs Participants in the Yellow Dot program fill out a form with their emergency contact medical contact and medical information They take that information and put it in their vehicle s glove compartment Participants then place a yellow dot sticker on their vehicle s rear window to alert emergency responders to check the vehicle s glove compartment for the data The ECI program offers Pennsylvania driver s license and PennDot issued ID holders a chance to log on to a secure database and list two emergency contacts Customers can update the information as needed but only police can view their information In emergencies police can use participants ID to find their emergency contact information The difference in the two programs is that the Yellow Dot stickers are used only for vehicle crashes To learn more about the Yellow Dot program

    can be found below To read the article in its entirety please visit their website at www perkiomenwatershed org Stormwater pollution is a problem we should all think about because we all contribute to it we are all affected by it and we can all be part of the solution Stormwater running off the land carries many pollutants into local streams either directly or through storm sewer systems We use those streams along with wells for our drinking water Due to development less rain water is making its way underground to replenish our wells and more is rushing downstream The more polluted our water resources become the more difficult and expensive it is for water companies to purify it for drinking That cost is passed on to us when we pay our water bills Stormwater pollution also negatively impacts wildlife recreation stream banks and storm sewer systems It can lead to increased flooding fish becoming inedible the spread of pathogens and other risks to human health It is the responsibility of everyone to protect our streams from stormwater pollution There are small actions each of us can take to reduce the pollutants stormwater picks up as it runs off the
