    the Hockaday Museum Collection Board of Directors Staff Volunteers Museum Memberships Affiliations Media Guide FAQ Copyright Policy Online Accessibility Policy Kalispell Culture The Museums of Kalispell Links Contact Us Shopping cart Units Item Price Delete Total 0 00 CHECK OUT A A A A Members Salon Winter Important Dates January 1 2015 Participation form available online October 20 24 2015 Artwork Drop off 10 AM 5 PM October 24 2015 Participation Form Fee Artist Statement and Artwork Due An artist statement is a brief explanation of who you are and a description of your creative process November 5 2015 Show Opens 10 AM November 12 2015 Opening Reception 5 7 PM People s Choice Voting Begins November 28 2015 People s Choice Voting Ends Winning Artists Notified December 31 2015 Show Closes January 5 9 2016 Artwork Pickup 10 AM 5 PM Participation The Winter 2015 Members Salon participation form may be downloaded by clicking on the button below Exclusive Benefit for Members The Hockaday Museum of Art invites all artist members to participate in the popular Members Salon exhibition Museum memberships must be current through the closing date of the show in which the member is participating Current members may participate in any salon they choose and may do so by returning a participation form applicable fee artist statement and submitting art no later than the last day of the artwork drop off period for that salon Each Members Salon will feature a People s Choice Awards competition with voting open to the public All works will be hung salon style downstairs in the Community Access Gallery Beginning in 2015 there will be two Members Salons per year the first during the peak of the summer tourist season July September and the second taking place during the holiday season

    s Books Prints Posters Misc Exhibit Catalogs About Us About the Hockaday Museum Collection Board of Directors Staff Volunteers Museum Memberships Affiliations Media Guide FAQ Copyright Policy Online Accessibility Policy Kalispell Culture The Museums of Kalispell Links Contact Us Shopping cart Units Item Price Delete Total 0 00 CHECK OUT A A A Exhibition Proposal Guidelines for Submissions Hockaday Museum of Art Call for Proposals The Hockaday is always interested in receiving exhibition proposals from artists and curators The Hockaday Museum of Art is a non profit visual arts museum located in NW Montana offering a professional environment in a museum setting to advance the development of contemporary and traditional artists The proposal should be clear concise and include the exhibition s thesis educational value intended audiences and artwork you plan to present Proposals should be sent or emailed to the Executive Director director hockadaymuseum org Hockaday Museum of Art 302 2nd Ave E Kalispell MT 59901 When to Apply Proposals will be accepted anytime The exhibition committee meets twice a year January and September Notifications will be mailed after the review takes place Eligibility A proposal may be submitted by An artist Group of artists i e association or guild A curator if a curator is approved they are entirely responsible for the content of the exhibition see below Emerging artists a student with a sponsoring school or teacher ages 13 18 must have parents written permission Committee Criteria for Selecting Exhibitions The quality of each artist s work will be evaluated in regard to Overall balance and consistency of the work shown Clarity of the stated intention and focus of the proposed exhibition Cohesiveness of the stated intention and how that translates into the actual work Compatibility of the exhibition within the annual exhibition schedule Completed applications must include all of the following Proposal complete description of proposed exhibition concept 150 200 words Dates exhibit is available and any restrictions concerning scheduling travel work school etc Contact info including address phone and email CV and or resume and bio Artist process statement Images 10 20 slides on CD of high resolution digital images provide a reference sheet for all images that describes title use of media and size SASE self addressed stamped envelope for notification and return of materials A list of items in the packet to indicate those materials you prefer returned and those that can be discarded Articles on the artist and previous exhibits Please state the educational elements of the exhibit and or whether the artist is available for workshops classes or lectures Professional letters of reference All written materials should be typed not handwritten Proof read your documents for errors grammar and spelling Use a simple binder or packet to organize all materials neatly Clearly mark or label all materials with your name and contact info in case they get separated from the packet Address labels are appropriate The Exhibition Committee will not accept a proposal for a body of work that has already
