    HTA Multidisciplinary Policy Research for Achieving Best Value in Healthcare Learn More About INAHTA HTA Informing Decisions About Technologies Efficiency effectiveness and ethical social legal aspects Learn More About INAHTA HTA Delivering the right evidence at the right time for policy makers Learn More About INAHTA HTA Informing decisions about appropriate technology use Learn More About INAHTA Global Networking for Effective Healthcare Learn More About INAHTA Welcome to INAHTA The International Network of Agencies for Health Technology Assessment Health care decision making requires the right evidence at the right time Every day there are new health technologies available that can improve patient outcomes and refine health system efficiency Health technology assessment HTA is a tool to review technologies and provide evidence of the value these technologies can deliver to patients and their families health system stakeholders and to society more broadly INAHTA is a network of 54 HTA agencies that support health system decision making that affects over 1 billion people in 33 countries around the globe With more than 2 100 staff and consultants working in the INAHTA network there are clear benefits to connecting these agencies together to cooperate and share information about producing and disseminating HTA reports for evidence based decision making INAHTA serves this purpose What is Health Technology Assessment HTA HTA is the systematic evaluation of the properties and effects of a health technology addressing the direct and intended effects of this technology as well as its indirect and unintended consequences and aimed mainly at informing decision making regarding health technologies HTA is conducted by interdisciplinary groups that use explicit analytical frameworks drawing on a variety of methods A health technology is defined as an intervention that may be used to promote health to prevent diagnose or treat acute or chronic disease or for rehabilitation

    review DARE covers a broad range of healthcare related topics and can be used for answering questions about the effects of healthcare interventions and for developing clinical guidelines and policy making The INAHTA member CRD produces the database Health Evidence Network HEN Health Evidence Network HEN is an information service primarily for public health and health care decision makers in the European Region There is a growing need for timely and relevant information for decision making The huge quantity of information and evidence available in the fields of public health and health care is dispersed among numerous databases and other sources HEN makes it easier for decision makers and other interested parties to get rapid access to much of this information in one place INAHTA is pleased to be a partner of HEN in a joint effort to produce and implement evidence on important health policy issues Agencias y Unidades de Evaluación de Tecnologías Sanitarias AUnETS AUNETS is the association of the Spanish HTA agencies and units to improve their coordination and representativeness in the Spanish National Health Care System Althought AUNETS is not regulated by organizational by laws its is displayed through the web site It is an interesting platform because it contains more than two hundred HTA reports and projects comissioned by the Spanish Ministry of Health as a result of the Spanish Quality Plan for the National Health Care System Health Services Technology Assessment Texts HSTAT guidelines HSTAT is a free Web based resource of full text documents that provide health information and support healthcare decisionmaking HSTAT s audience includes healthcare providers health service researchers policy makers payers consumers and the information professionals who serve these groups HTA on the Net This guide focuses on Internet sites useful for people involved in HTA research in Alberta Canada but HTA on the Net also incorporates data from other sources These may include specialized bibliographic databases relevant to the subject of the assessment data from government and regulatory sources hospital administrative databases industry studies and advice from experts in the field The INAHTA member AHFMR produces the guide HEN Health Evidence Network HEN is an information service for public health and healthcare decisionmakers in the European Region Additional users include informed and interested citizens The Network is a new project initiated and coordinated by the World Health Organization WHO Regional Office for Europe HEN works with several agencies and organizations to provide evidence for decisionmakers INAHTA is pleased to be a partner of HEN in a joint effort to produce and implement evidence on important health policy issues MEDLINE PubMed PubMed a service of the U S National Library of Medicine includes over 14 million citations for biomedical articles back to the 1950s These citations are from MEDLINE and additional life science journals PubMed includes links to many sites providing full text articles and other related resources MEDLINE is the National Library of Medicine s premier bibliographic database covering the fields of medicine nursing dentistry veterinary medicine the healthcare

    face meeting that is held adjacent to the HTAi conference Througout the year the membership participates in various communities of practice task groups and or Board subcommittees to advance the achievement of the strategic objectives of the Network and to deepen collaboration and trust amongst members The Members of the INAHTA Board are composed of and elected by the membership and Board members stand for 2 year terms The INAHTA Board is responsible for the development and implementation of the INAHTA Strategic Plan and oversees the work of the task groups committees and Secretariat The Secretariat is currently located at the Institute of Health Economics IHE Canada and is responsible for coordinating the activities of the Network Dissemination activities INAHTA s key communication form is Internet The INAHTA website and Members only section include information about on going activities INAHTA Briefs are short 1 page summaries that provide an overview of recently published reports INAHTA Briefs are published regularly and placed on the INAHTA website as soon as they become available INAHTA Checklists are an aid to furthering a consistent and transparent approach to HTA They also provide information on the purpose methods and contents of an HTA report INAHTA Impact Reports are a tool for INAHTA members to report on the impact or influence of their HTA on health system decision making Joint Projects involve the member agencies in collaborative efforts to evaluate medical technologies of mutual interest The INAHTA report on PET was updated and published in the Intl J Technolgy Assessment in Health Care in 2006 A Synthesis Report was published 1999 and contains a summary and analysis of five reports on preoperative evaluation from INAHTA agencies The INAHTA listserv connects all member agencies together and this email list is available to all members to ask questions

    A summary of eligibility membership fees and the application process is provided below Please read the INAHTA By Laws and Membership Regulations for further details about the rights and obligations of membership Eligibility for Membership a Full Members Full membership in INAHTA is open to organizations that Assess technology in health care Are non profit organizations Relate to a regional or national government Are funded at least 50 by public sources Provide free access to publicly available reports to other INAHTA members upon request Hospital based HTA units are welcome to apply if they demonstrate that they satisfy the membership criteria b Candidate Members Candidate members must satisfy the criteria for Full Membership listed above In addition they are to provide justification in a cover letter of why they request for Candidate Membership e g they are new in the process of being established and or are not yet producing HTA reports or other similar reason NOTE Candidate Membership is intended to be temporary 12 months with possibility to extend another 12 months 24 months total maximum See the INAHTA Membership Regulations for details Annual Membership Fee INAHTA provides different levels of membership fees according to the Word Bank LMIC classification As of June 2015 the annual membership fees are as follows a Full Members High income countries 3 900 Canadian Dollars Upper middle income countries 2 900 Canadian Dollars Lower middle income countries 1 900 Canadian Dollars Lower income countries 950 Canadian Dollars b Candidate Members Candidate members all countries 300 Canadian Dollars Application Process INAHTA accepts applications at any time of the year The INAHTA membership year is January 1 to December 31 Agencies wishing to apply for either Full or Candidate Membership in INAHTA are asked to submit A cover letter from the appropriate authority in the
