    community based groups and non profit organizations to provide quality facilities programs and services Ironwood Outdoor Center IOC is the initial project for CRC named after the abundance of Ironwood trees which grow on the property IOC is an ecologically diverse 84 acre woodland and wetland preserve located on the banks of the Rancocas Creek in Lumberton NJ CRC purchased the property from the YMCA orginally known as the YMCA Camp Worth in 2000 with the assistance of a NJDEP Green Acres grant thus saving the site from future development Located on the Ironwood property is a 6000 square foot swimming pool and kiddy pool sensory garden hiking nature trails high low ropes challenge courses natural grassland meadow camping and public access to the south branch Rancocas Creek for canoeing and kayaking A respectable 241 species of flora and fauna make Ironwood their home Ironwood Outdoor Center Our Mission The purpose of Ironwood is two fold to offer swimming recreation at a reasonable rate to the community and by partnering with industry professionals providing outdoor learning opportunities that are not available through community programs IOC will give children families and groups the opportunity to connect with nature gain knowledge and

    dusk Trail information is posted on on the sign boards at each trail head There are over 170 species of plants and animals on site so bring your binoculars Paddling Remember you don t need to be a member to participate in our programs they are open to everyone The South Branch of the Rancocas Creek runs through IOC s property You may access the creek from our dock which is located past the fenced in pavilion To the left of the main building IOC has Kayaks to rent by appointment Call or email for information ROPES COURSE PROGRAMS Ironwoods ropes course consists of both low and high elements A 35ft high tower dominates the course The tower provides the following elements Climbing Rockwall Flying Squirrel Giants Ladder Vertical Playpen 225ft Zipline The low ropes course consists of Whale Watch Trust Fall Acid River Spider Web Trolleys Multi Vine We will be having an Adventure Days program All adventure day programs include the tower and zip line For further information please call the business office at 609 267 4104 or email Jean ironwoodnj org CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD ROPES COURSE BROCHURE As with all outdoor programs they are weather dependent
