    for phone interview and participate in interview with Training and Volunteer Program Manager Log in and update personal information in Volunteer Matters web based volunteer management software Participate in 3 community member roles scheduled by CRJ Case coordinator via phone within one month of completing community member training NOTE These 3 experiences in processes act as a working interview Based on the performance of the student and the need of the program LCJP will invite participants to continue training as a facilitator Attend on one Facilitator Training session with LCJP Trainer 1 5 Hrs Participate in 2 cases as a co facilitator with guidance from experienced facilitator mentor Complete Facilitator Self Evaluation after each case submit via email and review with CRJ Staff member Participate in 3 rd process as a Lead Facilitator Manage all logistics associated with process Register for and attend one of the next two available CGC Facilitator Trainings offered by the LCJP RP Institute Complete all additional Restorative Practice Student Requirements listed above within 2 years of RP Orientation date Option C LCJP Volunteer Support You fully support the mission of LCJP and want to support the use of restorative practices to assist individuals and organizations in creating a restorative community by building maintaining repairing relationships You may but are not required to be a Restorative Practices Student Service opportunities may include but are not limited to the following Office work Marketing Events Organization Education School Team Support House Maintenance Computer Support Translation Interpretation Food Prep and Special Projects Action Steps 1 Register and attend Restorative Practices Volunteer Orientation See Class List Below 2 Complete LCJP Volunteer Application 3 Pass background check facilitated by Longmont Police Department 4 Receive invitation for phone interview with Training and Volunteer Program Manager 5 Volunteers accepted into this support role will be assigned to LCJP Staff members for project oversight based on the nature of the project Overview of the LCJP Restorative Practices Training and Implementation Method Institute Lab Consulting LCJP Restorative Practices Institute Those Restorative Practices Students who attend the RP Institute are required to attend all core classes within two years of completing their orientation The classes are structured to be taken in the order listed below Prerequisites must be met before attending each class Optional Classes may be attended by those who meet the prerequisites Suggested classes are trainings or experienced by outside organizations that compliment a individuals restorative practice Suggested Reading outlines books that would assist in building the restorative practitioner skill set Core Classes Required to complete the Path of the Restorative Practitioner 1 Restorative Practices Orientation 2 Hrs 2 Restorative Conversations and Contracts for resolving 1 on 1 conflict 2 Hrs Prerequisite Restorative Practices Orientation 3 Restorative Circles for a Relationship building b Skill building c Structuring difficult group conversations Prerequisite Restorative Practices Orientation 4 Community Member Training for Community Group Conferencing 2 Hrs Prerequisite Restorative Practices Orientation 5 Facilitator Training for Community Group Conferencing 2 Days 16hrs Prerequisites Restorative Practices Orientation Community Member

    Group Conference How to talk about the impacts of crime and conflict on the community How to ask questions for understanding the impacts of crime and conflict How to brainstorm ideas for repairing the harmful impacts of crime and conflict The prerequisite for the Community Member Training is the Restorative Practices Orientation SVVSD employees and people making a minimum 1 year commitment to Volunteer with LCJP may attend this training for free Please visit our Volunteer Program page click here for more information or contact Jessica Goldberg at jessica lc jp org or 303 776 1527 demo Pikes Peak Restorative Justice Symposium 2015 Organized by the Pikes Peak RJ Council the 2015 Pikes Peak RJ Symposium click here will feature Mark Umbreit from the Center for Peacemaking and Restorative Justice at the University of Minnesota LCJP staff Kathleen McGoey and Lindsey Pointer will present two sessions Partnering with Police in Restorative Justice Organizations This is an information session about how Longmont Community Justice Partnership LCJP over the past 20 years has built a strong partnership with the police department in Longmont LCJP continues to work closely with the police with approximately 150 offenders referred directly by police officers each year This session will include valuable information on forming partnerships maintaining relationships and integrating police officers in restorative justice conferences Along with the three presenters there will be a police officer from Longmont Police Department in attendance to share his her perspective There will also be time for questions and discussion Teamplay Teaching Restorative Practices through Games Games and metaphors create an accessible and meaningful learning environment for restorative principles These games can be used in facilitator or community training as well as with youth and in schools to develop and encourage aspects of restorative justice such as Beverly Title s 5 R s relationship respect relationship responsibility repair and reintegration In addition to being fun and decreasing resistance to new concepts or ideas game based learning allows a safe environment to test out new skills make mistakes or create a microcosm of a larger issue giving it distance from the heat of real life scenarios while also contextualizing it in a performance based approach This session will discuss the use of experiential learning through play including modeling participatory games to take back to your team Calendar Volunteers are a key component of many of the restorative justice RJ programs in our region In an effort to support the training needs of RJ volunteers and staff the training program is designed to pool the diverse talents and resources of the many RJ programs and practitioners Our training and standards give RJ volunteers and staff access to training and on going skill enhancement We are committed to providing high quality RJ trainings to improve the skills of its program members volunteers as well as advancing the quality of the restorative justice movement By collaboratively training we share resources reduce expenses and learn about restorative practices implemented in various programs It builds the
