    in this special issue of Community Work and Family examine how parental leave policies have changed over a period dominated by the financial crash focusing on four groupings of countries the 5 Nordic countries the 4 Visegrad countries in Eastern Europe 4 Southern Europe countries and 6 Anglophone countries These analyses are framed by an article on the impact of the crisis on family outcomes and policies in OECD countries

  • Norwegian Working Fathers in Global Working Life
    life with a focus on mothers and children s experiences with work family life and their perceptions of fathers working in global companies The findings indicate that working conditions in global working life are gendered and not conducive to the development of the Norwegian fatherhood ideal of the working father This is due to global and flexible working conditions which imply long working hours extensive travel and jetlag related problems

  • Final evaluation of Australia's Paid Parental leave scheme
    which relate to women s workforce participation mothers and babies health and wellbeing gender equity and work life balance PPL enabled women to take extra time away from work delaying their return up to about 6 months after the birth of their baby and then slightly increased their probability of returning to work before the baby s first birthday The scheme also produced small but statistically significant improvements in mothers
