    St Come see the transformation Talk about how you can get involved Pitch in pick up trash Watch the birds Dig up blackberries Mulch trees See what we can accomplish in two hours Project sponsored by the Audubon Society and Toyota through a Together Green Innovation Grant and administered by Lomakatsi Restoration Project Additional Partners in Green Rogue Valley Audubon Society Logos Charter School Bear Creek Watershed Council Medford Tree Committee Rogue Valley Council of Governments Background During fall 2012 the project site was prepared by paid and volunteer crews using mechanical and hand methods to remove dense blackberry growth As of May 2012 876 native trees and shrubs have been planted within a 1 700 ft x 50 ft area along Bear Creek to meet the project conservation target of re establishing a riparian forest in the Bear Creek corridor More than 85 of the site has been planted This accomplishment is the most successful achievement to date as it means one of the primary conservation targets of the project is nearing completion Since November 2011 more than 688 volunteers youth and adults have contributed over 2 110 hours of time grubbing out blackberries and planting native trees and
