    Ecological Knowledge Links Partners Allies SOU Native American Ecological Education Symposium 2014 Traditional Ecological Knowledge links Search for Niki Del Pizzo Lomakatsi s Education Director Niki Del Pizzo Education Director Niki manages Lomakatsi s Restoration Ecology Education Program that includes streamside adopted site shade house nursery management community engagement and restoration ecology curriculum development She has been part of the Lomakatsi staff since 2005 Additional responsibilities include organizing hands on educational events with teachers from grades K 12 She develops lesson plans and curriculum relevant to the work of Lomakatsi and the field of restoration ecology working closely with teachers agency biologists and environmental educators Mrs Del Pizzo develops interactive projects and serves as a teacher and mentor to students and manages Lomakatsi s four native plant shade house nurseries She also performs outreach to the community promoting and coordinating Lomakatsi s Ecological Restoration Information Series held two Saturdays per month from October thru May During these events community members and volunteers learn about different ecological restoration topics and participate in hands on activities working closely with Lomakatsi s restoration practitioners and workforce on active sites where projects are being implemented Mrs Del Pizzo also coordinates Lomakatsi s Adopted Site
