  • Our Hiring Process
    is automated and online You can search our job openings submit a cover letter and resume or complete an employment application quickly and easily by going to our Job Opportunities page The initial online application process should not take more than 10 15 minutes If you are unable to use our electronic application process please contact us to request a suitable accommodation Once you submit your application or resume you will receive an automated email confirming that we have received it Rest assured if you received a confirmation email we do have your information Once the application deadline has passed we will review all of the application materials submitted and contact people to schedule interviews We frequently schedule phone interviews with applicants as a preliminary step The phone interviews may last about 15 30 minutes The next step is a face to face interview You will be interviewed by a minimum of 2 people and the interview process varies for each position Some interviews may last 1 hour and others may take several hours Many of our interviews include a tour of the plant Before we extended an offer to a candidate we will check a minimum of 2 professional

    the list instead of filed away with hundreds of others Below are some quick tips to consider when applying for a job Understand your career goals and what you are applying for The more focused your job search is the more likely you will have a positive outcome Know what you want to do and what you are good at Customize your resume for the specific position you are applying for Highlight the experiences and skills that directly relate to the position you are interested in Write a cover letter that is tailored to the position and or the employer Generic cover letters are a waste of time and do not help to set you apart from the crowd The cover letter is an opportunity to explain why you really want this specific position or to work for this organization Be clear and concise There is no need to go into every little detail on a resume Highlight the major points or accomplishments and move on Use bullet points This makes your resume easier to read and allows us to quickly review your accomplishments Be Honest Don t lie or fabricate on applications or resumes It will come back to haunt you Even if you have gaps in employment were fired or laid off have been convicted of a crime don t mislead employers They will find out about it and can fire you for the dishonesty even though the issue you lied about may not have led to termination Keep it Relevant The information you provide on a job application resume or cover letter should be relevant to the position Do not include personal information such as marital status race gender religion etc and please don t send a picture When it comes to resumes pictures are not worth

    you are applying for and who is interviewing you This is so easy online there is really no excuse to be uninformed about your potential new employer Many interviews start by asking what you know about the employer this is your opportunity to make a great first impression and to show how serious you are about the organization Plan If possible familiarize yourself with the location of the interview what to expect for traffic what building to enter where to park etc Try to be there about 10 minutes early There is nothing worse than stressing out before you even get to the interview because you are running late or get lost Practice Before you go to an interview practice answering some standard interview questions and be prepared to discuss examples of your work You can easily find sample interview questions online and this will help you provide articulate responses the day of Answer the Questions Don t talk around a question Answer it directly and concisely If you are asked to provide an example of a past situation come prepared to do just that Think through some of your past experiences and accomplishments and be prepared to talk about them in a succinct but descriptive manner Be Yourself This is your opportunity to connect with us so be genuine and open up a bit but I don t mean tell us your life story Give us an idea of what it would be like to work with you This is a really important aspect of the interview because we are looking for a good fit just like you are Tell us why you want to do Work Worth Doing Ask Questions Asking good questions is crucial for two reasons First this is your chance to interview the company so

  • Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District > Projects > Northeast Interceptor > Pumping Station 18 Forcemain
    Main MMSD is in the process of constructing a series of projects to increase wastewater conveyance capacity Part of this series of projects is the construction of the Pumping Station 18 Force Main PS18FM This project will involve the installation of a buried 48 pipeline along the project route displayed in the Project Route Map diagram below Much of the project will be constructed in non roadway areas during winter and early spring months In early spring construction activities will be moving into Broadway Construction along Broadway will result in lane closures and one lane traffic in each direction in construction areas Access to residential addresses and business will be maintained throughout the project Night work will be used where necessary in order to maintain that access To learn more about the road work on Broadway check out our Newsletter and some macro scale depictions of Broadway Traffic Control With our extensive amount of work planned for Broadway communicating with the public will be especially critical for this project To make this process easier we are going to be keeping you up to date as much as we can As the construction work progresses we will be providing new information

    Observation Area Planning Facility Plans Budget Finance Permits Ordinances Sustainability Background on EPA Approval Yahara WINs Home Resources Contracts Meetings Contacts FAQs Some of you may have heard or read a press release recently indicating that EPA has approved DNR s phosphorus rules The following provides a little background When a state passes a water quality standard required under the Clean Water Act which our new phosphorus rule is the EPA must approve it as consistent with the Clean Water Act requirements That approval is important because if the EPA doesn t approve it the state could face federal regulators coming in to manage the program or other problematic consequences The Natural Resources Board approved the phosphorus rulemaking package back in 2010 While the EPA approved the phosphorus numeric limits in late 2010 they needed more time to review the implementing language which includes the Watershed Adaptive Management Option EPA approved the implementing language in a letter to DNR dated 7 25 2012 This official approval is something that has been expected We have been and will continue to work with both DNR and EPA as we move forward with the Yahara WINs project Both DNR and EPA are very
