    you are interested please download and complete the application form also available in Spanish and return it to our business office Be sure to include proof that your income meets the low income requirements To determine your eligibility MMWD may need to request additional information and or schedule an appointment for you to meet with one of our representatives at the district s business office Please direct all questions regarding this program to our Customer Service Department at 415 945 1409 We will notify you in writing if you qualify for this program Please allow three weeks for your application to be processed Please note The district reserves the right to request additional information at any time While eligibility is normally for a one year period participation in the program can be revoked if a customer does not meet all qualifying criteria as set forth in the district code Medical Disability Discount If you qualify the bimonthly meter service charge and the watershed management fee are waived and an additional nine CCFs is billed at the Tier 1 base rate To qualify for MMWD s Medically Disabled Water Rate Program you must Establish your disability through doctor verification Install water efficient showerheads toilets and faucet aerators in your home that meet MMWD code free showerheads and aerators are available from MMWD Be a single family residential customer with a meter size no larger than one inch Have the water service in your name apartment complexes or mobile home parks with a master meter do not qualify and Not be claimed as a dependent on another person s income tax return Please download and complete the application form also available in Spanish and return it to Customer Service Department Your application must include certification from your doctor as to your disability

    before March resulting in the plant never making its appearance Over the years I have heard weeds defined as any plant growing where it isn t wanted Dandelions are never welcome in my garden but I understand that it is classified as a great salad delicacy in some arenas Plants that may be well behaved in one part of the country may be invasive in another The best thing a gardener can do is tackle the job when the unwanted plants are young the sun is shining and the ground is still moist Tag s weeds rebates gardening conservation Charlene Burgi 0 Comments Apr 19 Introducing the Watershed Management Fee Posted on April 19 2016 at 12 00 AM by Ann Vallee With new water rates now in effect one of the changes you will notice on your bill is the addition of a watershed management fee The new fee is based on meter size and equates to about 5 per month for the average single family customer What are these funds for Mt Tamalpais Watershed MMWD s Mt Tamalpais Watershed is the primary source of drinking water for our customers We re fortunate to have this source of high quality water in our backyard but taking care of almost 20 000 acres of protected watershed land has a cost Our responsibilities on Mt Tam include managing wildfire risks monitoring plant and animal populations restoring natural habitats maintaining access roads and trails assisting visitors and providing nature education for school children and adults MMWD also is committed to preserving the ecological health of the creeks downstream of our reservoirs home to endangered coho salmon and steelhead trout The new watershed management fee will fund a portion of these services helping MMWD to protect the source of our clean local water and to preserve these lands for future generations Tag s watershed management fee rates Mt Tamalpais Watershed 0 Comments Apr 15 Survivors Posted on April 15 2016 at 9 02 AM by Ann Vallee by Charlene Burgi Hardy plants are now disclosing their ability to survive years of drought followed by a wetter winter and spring this year A walk around the garden or neighborhood may surprise the most advanced gardener to learn which plants can survive harsh conditions I had a revelation of this kind this past week while visiting my daughter Lynette and her family in Petaluma As I walked through her yard I first noticed a familiar fragrance wafting from the corner of the garden It didn t take long to find sweet violets in full bloom under the large rose bush I was impressed with the amount of ground these little plants covered and how well they appeared to have endured the drought It was then that I learned these little jewels of perfume completely disappeared during the long years months and days of drought My daughter thought for sure the violets were gone for good and was pleasantly surprised when they reappeared this year during
