doors was ajar I read the box in the cabinet I then asked my mother why she was keeping napkins in the bathroom Didn t they belong in the kitchen Not wanting to burden me with unnecessary facts she told me that those were for special occasions her second mistake Now fast forward a few months It s Christmas Day and my folks are leaving to pick up my Uncle and his wife for dinner Mom had assignments for all of us while they were gone Mine was to set the table When they returned my Uncle came in first and immediately burst into laughter Next came his wife who gasped then began giggling Next came my Father who roared with laughter Then came Mom who almost died of embarrassment when she saw each place setting on the table with a special occasion Kotex napkin at each plate with the fork carefully arranged on top I had even tucked the little tail in so they didn t hang off of the edge My mother asked me why I used these and of course my response sent the other adults into further your stories I have one not so humorous but left me with a lesson My oldest was in cub scouts and I was a den leader and did lots of other jobs in the pack I had a friend in the next town over that did lots of work helping out people in poverty situations At Christmas she arranged adoptions of families Every family needed something different Some a tree with decorations was enough Others it was groceries and presents for the kids Our Cub Scout Pack decided to adopt a large family Mom Grandma son daughter and Mom had a small daughter about 3 years old The kids did jobs around their neighborhoods and raised the money themselves A few of us moms did the shopping We bought tons of groceries and had a blast shopping for jammies sweaters slippers and a few toys for the little girl When we arrived at the families house The mom came out and her response was just put everything in the kitchen She then turned away and went back in the house The presents went in the living room Grandma was cooking and when we went into the kitchen we could see piles of garbage bags on the back porch The place was a mess and the little girl was eating donuts for her dinner It turned out she was actually the daughter of the teenage girl there and the teenager was pregnant again When we left we got no thank you No help bringing in the items It was as if this was life as usual for them We left and felt taken advantage of On the way home we decided to stop at a little coffee place to absorb the experience and deal with the let down we all felt The lesson we discovered and this was hard Was it wasn t our place to judge We decided on looking at the positives The little 3 year old would now have fresh fruit as an option to donunts She would also have some nice clean and new jammies and some fun toys for Christmas We felt God had taken us to that family and we had no right to the need to feel good We did what we were led to do and we had a wonderful night shopping together and nothing would take that wonderful feeling away from us So not every story is warm and fuzzy but a lesson in humility that God is in charge and we need to just let go of our needs and let him do his stuff My family decided to adopt a father and his son at the same time They needed a tree ornaments and a coat for the little boy We went as a family to shop and then took everything over to them They lived in a tiny trailer and were so greatful They insisted on us coming in mind you this was a tiny tiny trailer We crammed in a small seating area and the father made us coffee and hot chocolate The difference was amazing compared to the other family I know it made an impact on my son He was amazed at how tiny the trailer was and didn t know there were people that lived like that I have done random acts of kindness before finally learning to let go of what it did for me just hearing Gods voice in my head to do what he was commanding Anyway hope this touches you in some way Bunny www me And that left us all feeling like we just helped a family who wasn t needy at all BUT I tried to tell my kids and myself that we really couldn t judge their circumstances because we didn t know what they truly were going through And like you said We just have to listen to God s prompting and not second Guess Him just be obedient to His will He see s the bigger picture and He will work it all of catching up to do Prayers are going out to everyone in need It seems like there are so many who are hurting either physically or in their hearts right now Thank you to all of you who sent Christmas cards I m so far behind I don t know if I will get mine out in time or not but I m gonna try in the next day or two I drove from PA to Vermont on December 10th to my Mom s and we left on December 11 12 for New York City with a bus trip sponsored by her Seniors group We spent Sunday in Tarrytown NY visiting the old Union Church at the Rockefeller estate Mom s friend Beverly and her daughter Carol went with us Beverly s father was one of the first pastors of this church in the 1920 s They had never been there before so were thrilled to see the church and to see his name on a plaque on the wall The stained glass windows in the church were done by two famous articles Chagall and Matise We also toured Lyndhurst Castle and then had dinner at Castle on the Hudson Monday was a rough day Mom tore a ligament in her knee at breakfast at the hotel and we had a rough time getting her on and off the bus and around Rockefeller Center all day long She was in a lot of pain and couldn t put hardly any weight on her leg We went to see the Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall in the afternoon before taking the bus back to Vermont I was supposed to drive back home to PA on Tuesday but stayed an extra day to take Mom to the doctor There was no way I wanted her to drive with her leg in that condition plus it was snowy and icy out When we finally got home at 7 00 p m it was bitter cold and windy and we were locked out of the house I ended up breaking the glass in the door to get in Wednesday after lunch I left for home and had a flat tire on the Taconic Parkway Couldn t get the lug nuts loose so had to call AAA They put my donut spare on but I was too far to go all the way home on that so had to find a place to get a new tire Never got home until 11 00 p m should have been home by 6 00 Needless to say this was a rough trip New York is always beautiful at Christmas though and we did have a good time in spite of all the issues Anyway it was a long story but now you know why I m so far behind on my cards Oh yeah and I m driving back to Vermont again this Thursday to spend Christmas with Mom and some cousins who are coming for the day I ll be there until the following Monday the 27th if all goes as planned If I don t get a chance to write again before I leave I hope everyone has a marvelous holiday Hugs and blessings to all Luanne beekeepersgirl 691 Pleasant words are as an miserable here but for some reason I am feeling really pretty good the last two days Go figure this whole Fibro thing can be such a mystery at times Anyway I count my blessings and go with the flow on these good days I got up this morning and said Self today is the day to get back on the good eating and exercise program and to quit going nuts on all the Holiday goodies So I had grapefruit and three glasses of water at about 7 30 and then I am just about ready to go have a bowl of oatmeal Then I went to the exercise room and walked on the Treadmill Which is boring as I would rather walk outside in fresh air with some nice views to enjoy but not in this weather Then I did 30 crunches on another machine and 20 arm curls combined with a stomach crunch on a different machine The Yoga in Bed that I did the other morning really made my Knees and hips hurt but I haven t sat Indian Style in years so I am guessing that is going to take some getting use to Started out slowly this week but will build back up Then I came in did the dishes took out the trash paid some bills and now I am getting ready to wrap the stocking stuffers I purchased over the weekend Have to purchase two gift cards and I am finally finished It has really been a stress free Holiday Season and that is how I like it And I am NOT waiting for the First of The Year to start thinking healthy and that feels good too It was walked out with her and left the guy blowing steam in his stew He deserves it That is too funny that she thought she was emailing her hubby and it was the boss Myself I don t think mistakes like that happen by accident It was all meant to be At The Big Christian Book Store I worked at in Portland I was sitting in The Managers Office we all had our own cubicles in One Big Office for all Department Managers Well The IT Tech came in and I notice him working over in a corner hooking up some electronic box with a big ol blinking red light on it so I asked him what he was installing He said Oh I m not really sure they just told me to put it in over here I said Whose is they He said The Corporate Office I said Well what does it do What is it s purpose He said Oh I m not sure OK girls I wasn t born yesterday this is an IT Tech he knew what that box did So I said Get Real Gary that is to monitor our conversations in here isn t it He said Why would they want to do that The proverbial dodge answer a question with a question So all that day I kept saying things about knowing what they were doing spying in on our conversations and telling people NOT to be saying anything about Corporate whose offices were right behind our store and two days later the box was gone That is exactly what they were doing and it made them mad that I figured it out and so it put them in a position of me being able to sue them if I chose to They always thought I was going to sue them because I always caught them doing dishonest things It was one of those times I was thankful that God made me intuitive to what is going on around me And when I ended up quitting they sweat it out for three years that I was going to sue them for Age Discrimanation because I had all kinds of proof against them on that and much more But I didn t it was just good that they knew that I knew it helped keep them in line OK Pam now what Keep us posted girl You need to get out of there For sure hit him up for a big raise 7 30pm My poor son was sick with a bad cold It was an eye opening trip for me In my desperation to stay local I have entertained the thought of finding a place with my X He is a transgendered man to woman Strange but I deal He drove me nuts the whole trip No much common sense Just one more peice of information that tells me moving is the right thing at least for now My mom is beside herself with excitment I can t figure it out We didn t get along when I was a kid But I was the one that did everything around the house and brought no drama into our life I was the good daughter While my sister has dumped her kids on my mom to raise gone through numerous marrages 3 times back and fourth to the same man My life has been pretty much steady and I didn t concern her with anything I have to keep telling myself something good will come of this I got home sick as a dog of course catching what my son had I feel like caca At least I don t have anything pressing to do right now But I still have so much to pack The timeing is going to be tough He starts his new job weekend after this Then the last weekend in January he goes to Houston for a week Of course if escrow closes that weekend I have no way to get my stuff out of the house I m trying not to stress One day at at time Peggy I m so glad you get to see your granddaugher more often My grandmother was the most important person in my life good he would slip you a bill or two When we were really young we discovered that change fell out of his pocket into the cushions of his chair Amazingly enough there was always an equal amount of money for how many of us were there Nickles dimes and quarters were quite a score when you were 5 years old My grandmother always read at least two stories at night I carried on that with my boys It was the best time of the evening for me Just know it is the little things she will remember Everyone sounds like they had a wonderful Christmas holiday It was pretty quiet here Just the 3 of us watching movies and eating turkey and the fixins My decorations were all packed up in storage and I guess my heart just wasn t into it I love buying gifts for my family They don t feel the same about gift giving I would love to meet a guy that has a wonderful family that I can connect with and make holidays special again I did connect with a guy on eharmoney only to find out he is losing his house too He sounds like a great guy I just don t think I need to deal with that with a possible mate I would love to find someone to connect with that has it together I feel it is a bit hypocrital of me but I m so tired of the stress that goes along with all of this I still have not heard anything from the bank I guess

before where do I start Do we keep it just between us Or do we go out into the website and open it to all Tea Bags I mean tea drinking Farmgirls LOL I suppose we could do it like the Christmas card swap Everybody sign up that wants to then we just send a teabag or 1 serving of loose tea to everyone A teabag doesn t require any extra postage in an envelope I did it along with my Christmas cards Even at that we would collect a lot of teas to try Give me your in put Gals Sister chick 905 Sept 14th 2009 Judy Hugs Squeezles I am not contained between my hat and my boots Walt Whitman LadyInRed True Blue Farmgirl 5247 Posts PeggyAnn Vancouver WA USA 5247 Posts Posted Jan 07 2011 12 00 01 AM Judy you could do it either way but it would just be simpler to do it like we are the ornament swap Have twelve people sign up One person signs up for a particular month and sends out a tea bag to the 11 other gals in the swap Each month you would get a different tea to try Or you could do it every two weeks and do 24 gals signing up I think it would get way out of hand doing it outside the Porch but it s is entirely up to you If you do it monthly put me down for July Give every one like a week to sign up They email you if they want to participate and you

plastic curtian like walls on my greenhouse which she is welcome to open and look in so long as she doesn t dig in the pots She loves checkin the greenhouse everyday and helpin momma count the plants so she stays out of them to keep her priviledges of gettin to look at them I checked the plants agian this mornin and found all 18 plants peakin out of the dirt When my Hubby showed our little one she started oohin and ahhin over them I had to make her a salad for lunch since the greenhouse is keepin it forefront in her mind but I like that she will eat salads I got all but 2 of the carrot flats planted last night so I need to get them done this afternoon I guess I ought to get busy and finish cleanin the house so I can have time for my greenhouse Farmgirl Sister 1438 God Gardening Family Is tea treats and a warm quilt on cold nights It s quite a place Angela I am soooo jealous you have stuff growing so soon Not fair It is a nice 23 degrees at night at my Mom s in Oregon If I was there I don t believe I would be getting anything to sprout just yet The tea swap sounds great However I am a total tea snob and only like certain ones I would hate to have anyone waste good tea on me that I might not drink I did try all the teas that were sent as gifts But I m pretty much an earl grey or jasmine tea girl Very stuffy I know It looks like my next possible exit from California is after Feb 1 The rules for the Hafa program I need to stay out of financial despair change I can move away However I m not clear on if I m allowed to get a job when I move I m still suppose to keep my house here as my primary residence Of course every time I call the bank I get a different answer They did reject the offer on the house I know at this point the house will not sell The realtor can t get comps on it and the bank won t lower the offer price because of that and no lenders want to loan on a log house because they can t get comps to figure out what the house is worth in my area So it s just a catch 22 and the house is pretty much going to just sit here I m going to call HUD and hopefully get more info on the Hafa program to make sure I can actually make a living somewhere I won t even be able to get county assistance in Oregon because I can t establish residency And the new laws are suppose to help homeowners yeah right Anyway so I m still hanging in Thankfully feeling a bit more human after 3 days of meds for the strep The weather has been ok but I had to turn off the main heat to the house It was costing me 100 00 a week in propane n I m pretty much hold up in my bedroom with an electric space heater It s working for now I spend all of my time in my room anyway It s pretty cozy actually But I can t wait to get out of here Well I m off to have lunch with a friend I m the game I took the kids to grab a bite of lunch and then to the library I wasn t really looking for anything in particular really just went so the kids could find something to read But I came across
