still due to a muscle problem in his legs but our favorite song came on At Last and he asked me to dance I love that about him even if it is hard for him he knows how much it means to me It is a little funny to see because I have to work really hard to keep him from falling at times but it is so worth it I have the best DH in the world He never complains never and my life with him is the best I thank GOD everyday for bringing him in my life It is finally raining oh how we can use it but my garden is to far gone to benefit from it but our hay field should could use it I got my first letter from one of my new pen pals yesterday Spend the trip to the wedding yesterday writing her back Laura I so enjoyed getting a real letter Now I have to write my other pen pal I m behind in doing that I wanted to make a card for her but think that it will have to wait till next time I will get her letter in the mail tomorrow too I wasn t planning on doing the yo yo swap this time but Peggy extended my first quilt it was a 5th year 4 H project so I was about 13 14 at the time to always use white So that s what I do now Easier to see the stitches if I have to take them out and easier to remember replaced the upstream holder for one of the Goldenrod filters in my heating fuel line It had developed a seep when I changed out the filters on Saturday So last night I attempted to turn on the heater to take the chill off and lo and behold the silly thing would not come on The one in the other side of the house worked just fine but not mine God is so good and just took over I took the silly thing apart and just started working the petcock to bleed the heater I bled it until there was just a few bubbles and then turned it on I remembered how my DH would watch the flame when opening the valve and as soon as it flared quickly shut it down and reopen it for a few seconds until the fuel ran clear and there were no more bubbles Thank God the silly thing now works without any money to the Then I m making a vest for a class I m teaching in the fall Monday I teach my last kids sewing class I have 5 signed up It s going to be a big week They are making pj bottoms Not sure where I m going to put everyone but it is much needed money My mom scheduled herself for another shoulder surgery in early September That means for 6 weeks I have to do everything I told her I wouldn t bath her she needed someone else to do that Note she has not taken a bath or shower since I moved here in January She cleans up with a washcloth Ugggg Anyway my xboss called me Monday to tell me she put a check in the mail for me I m hoping it is for everything She also wanted me to schedule a quilting class Not many people sign up for classes at her shop so I figured it wouldn t hurt But I did it for a week I knew she didn t work I don t want to push it Thankfully although it doesn t make since she doesn t want the class money for the teacher to run through her books So everyone writes a check out to the having toxic parents affect your health At least I know my sister attributes her bad health to mom and she blames mom for sending dad to an early grave I don t wish to give mom more credit than she deserves though lol It is really up to each of us to learn our own boundaries and in force them and not let others toxic waste poison our life giving water source I have told Deb my sis for years that her unforgiveness towards Mother was like Deb drinking a bottle of poison and waiting for Mother to die It only kills you My Mother is 78 and she isn t going to change She is who she is and when I can deal with her I do and when I can t I don t But the cool thing for me this time is how God intervened on my behalf because I had already told Deb that I was coming despite mom and I was going to have a good attitude even if mom wasn t BUT in all truthfulness I was not looking forward to this trip at all for many reasons So I give God all the credit he took the decision out of my hands and I am so thankful I totally know that you can relate Bunny with your own Mom I have a couple of other friends who have Narcistic Mothers too and so we all kind of support one another or commiserate with each other how ever you want to look at it LOL Oh our Pam has been swamped with busyness I emailed her the other day and told her that I we all missed her Hey Porchies please keep Darlene in your prayers this week She has her breast cancer surgery next Tuesday the 23rd Don t forget to send her a card or letter or mail art or any little thing to encourage her She has been through a lot and has both chemo and radiation treatments yet to come OK now I really am going on my walk blessings peggy Farmgirl 1326 http ladyinredsite blogspot com I m only as strong as the caffeine I drink the hair spray I of washing soap and 3 cups of borax can t remember which recipe that one came from but it works good oh also I saw somewhere where a lady added SUN OXYGEN cleaner which is like oxiclean but so much cheaper I found it at Family Dollar and found the washing soda and borax at walmart and the Zote soap at Bi lo hope you like it I used 4 scopes of the sun oxygen Depending on your water you never have to use more than 2 tbs Good for all washers I have hard well water and use 1 tbs and it works great Oh and to make it so easy to make in 5 min I used my food processor I put in about a cup of borax in then cut the soap into small squares and put in and pulsed it the added all other stuff in another container and stirred it all up very well The Washing soap is made by Arm and Hammer The Borax is using them anyway because after having them fixed by the plummer she hadn t had them inspected Of course I m hearing this now So I told her no problem I ll unplug everything and next month when the Canada 498 Posts Posted Aug 20 2011 5 12 22 PM Got my clothes soap made Amazingly I found all of the stuff at WalMart I wasn t sure after reading comments on various sites about finding all the stuff I m not sure I really super like the smell of the Fels Naptha but the clothes smell cleaner I may try Ivory next time or the Snow bar I think I saw that somewhere It was all super cheap compared to the bottled stuff Arm Hammer Super Washing Soda 3 24 Borax 3 36 Sun Oxygen Cleaner 1 96 2 bars of Fels Naptha soap 0 97 each and I have tons left over of everything except the soap but that s alright so it will last for a very long time I m sure I also added some grapefruit essential oil but it doesn t seem to add any smell Maybe the Fels Naptha smell is just too overpowering for essential oils The hardest part I had was grating the soap I used a microplane grater then mixing it all together in the magic bullet 2 scoops in there seemed to work best twice just to make sure it was all mixed up real good It didn t take all the stains out but most of the clothes have been dried in the dryer the stains aren t really noticeable on the outside just on the inside Wishing I had a clothes line to hang stuff on I would love it As it is they are on a portable closet rack so I guess it s not too bad I found a small cooler for 9 that is so cute adorable It s blue with polka dots on it I also found a new wallet for 4 the card game war for I think it was 4 too I bought some canning jars Ball quilt design 8 oz jars that I m probably going to freeze stuff in they say freezer safe since I now have a deep freeze yay and I m not too sure of the whole canning process by myself anyhow Besides that all the canning stuff is at my mom s I don t have anywhere to put it All in all it was a pretty good day I hate car problems too and really my car is old enough that I should replace it but I don t think I drive it often enough to warrant getting a new one If I was to move then yes I would have to get a new one But I probably wouldn t be able to afford both a house farm a new vehicle I think my car is alright for now but I still don t trust it that far Penny that picture is great I m so happy you have an awesome picture like that Julie I hope you get your day off In my experience whenever I was on call I always got called in I really didn t like it And it wasn t like you could do much of wanna be it would be perfect Penny I was such a perfectionist when I was a young mother It was terrible I grew up in a perfectionist household and I unfortunately stressed myself and my entire family out trying live my mother s demands and expecting my children to also I had to finally ask God to cure me of that and I m thinking now that maybe He did too good of a job because most days I could care less I figure if I don t get it done today it will still be here tomorrow There is nobody else that is going to do it for me Today I get to go to my second favorite antique store in the area My husband has a Dr appointment today and while he is there I will be browsing and enjoying a lovely afternoon Then I will probably pop on over to a really sweet little Gelato Shop and have a bit of Canada border although could you imagine trying to get that through customs haha That might be a trial eh quote Pam you should check out the tiny house blog I have been checking it out for a long time now They blog about small houses like really small Some under 400 square feet I know you do meters ummm that would be about 37 square meters I have seen houses under 600 square feet or a little over 55 square meters that I could totally live it and feel very comfortable They aren t cheap of course costs more per square foot or meter But still cheaper than a large house Check out www tinyhouseblog com Maybe you ll find something that will inspire you One of my favorites is Texas tiny houses and Reclaimed space Both are in Texas but the houses they build especially on the inside are really amazing Bunny Bunny those are adorable houses I really like the Timber Frame Cottage one will have to keep my eyes ears open Thanks for sharing that link Not quite sure I want to live that small but it is definitely something to think about Oh we do houses in square feet not that it really means a whole lot to me lol I m not good at numbers and or spacing that s why there are tape measures pencils papers to draw on The apartment I m living in now isn t that big I find I have too much stuff not enough storage space for what I do want have Don t ask me the square footage as I have no idea lol quote Pam that would be so cool if you could move onto the farm I hope you re able to do it Megan Megan I talked to my Mom last night she s kind of against me moving out there at any point in the near future she thinks I ll turn into some kind of hermit lol but really it can t be worse than it is now so I don t know Once I do move out there and or winter starts I m going to be driving to work anyways 1st 3rd Mondays are Kinette meetings 1st Tuesdays are staff meetings 2nd Tuesdays are Ebenezer group Wednesdays are ceramics Meh whatever Summers are way less structured but still busy I still have a lot of thinking planning to do on it anyways What I would like to do is be able to take the summer off to focus on gardening canning freezing etc We ll see what happens I think I m going to watch some Dr Quinn tonight go to bed early I was going to go early last night but Mom phoned talked for 45 minutes This is my last week of work for the summer next week I get to go on holidays woohoo Pam your mention of the farm and living there reminds me of a book I read called Bad Girl Creek It is about a handicapped woman in a wheelchair that inherits her aunts flower farm in the carmel by the sea area She ends up with other women needing homes and a bit of healing and they all work together to make the farm successful If nothing else read the book and get inspired Never know where it can take you It is a great story too There are I think 3 more books in the series Anyway Had a wonderful day teaching My bank is being terrible dishonest in dealing with my short sale They are refusing to qualify me for a program to give me money for moving out They say I haven t lived in the house for the last 12 months It is a lie of course They even had a man out at the house taking pictures to prove I was there I met him But they won t even allow their own evidence I truly wish God would take them down I can t believe what they have put me through and the money it has cost me to play their game I could have started over with new store with the money they have forced me to spend for nothing Other than that live is just grand Bunny www bunnyrose com Not all who wander are lost Plan to call from the local TV station owner She was interested in talking to me about possibly doing a quilt show The kicker and I need help big time on this It has to pertain to Christan values I need scripture that I can match up to current organizations in the sewing and quilting world to show how it is being used I can do a segment on quilts with Christan themes But I know there are so many wonderful groups that help girls in Haiti sew and earn money for their families There are ladies all over the US that make blankets for the homeless There are ladies and guilds that donate supplies to tornado and hurricane victims Not to mention quilts made for kids by the Linus project and St Judes I will do my best to work on it myself But I m hoping to have at least 3 scriptures pertaining to the generosity and Christian values shown by quilters and sewers in general Thanks big time Bunny www bunnyrose com Not all who wander are lost Plan to improvise FarmDream True Blue Farmgirl 1085 if you ever come to Milwaukee I will definitely take you to get some good gelato Tammy I hope that your school year gets a good start Pam don t let your Mom discourage your dreams If I could I would to use their own evidence Such silliness But I m glad that you are able to do a show Now I m going to try and find scriptures about quilters generosity Today was a great start to the new school year I had a good check in so I know where my new locker is I had a good meeting for Campus Ministry Then I was able to walk to my friend s house in between that and rugby pictures I had rugby pictures Which was good except for me kneeling on my cyborg knee was a little painful Then rugby practice was okay except we started running hard core and I definitely misjudged how far our sprints are But it ll get better I hope everyone has beautiful Tuesdays God s and Farmgirl s Blessings Megan At heart I am both a sassy city girl and a down home country gal The dictionary is the only place where success comes tired tonight but had an awesome day today Slept in that always makes for a good start to my day Got 4 Farmgirl packages ready to mail out went to my second favorite antique store and found all kinds of fun little treasures One is a white rod iron chair like you would find at a Bistro Table I wanted it for my bathroom so I had somewhere to sit while I put lotion on my legs and feet Hopping up and down on one leg trying to balance while I apply lotion isn t the easiest thing to do at my age lol Then I treated my husband to a Pizza dinner and Chocolate Cake Dessert It was great because neither of us had eaten all day so didn t have to feel guilty over the extra calories He had to fast for his Dr appointment today as they were doing a blood draw also And I had just gotten busy and forgotten to eat It was a terribly humid day though not too hot I felt more uncomfortable in todays weather than the two 95 degree days we just had They were hot and dry which makes a big difference I hate high humidity I couldn t live in some of the states that some of you girls live in I d be a limp noodle ha ha Everyday And a cranky limp noodle at that Megan I didn t get my gelato like I was hoping for today By the time I got to the Shoppe they were already closed But yes if I ever make it to Milwaukee or you to Washington we will have to go out for Gelato together You are a girl after my own heart Bunny I wish the Bank would just be fair and honest with you But lying and using money inappropriately is what got them into this Huge Mess to begin with So I guess we shouldn t expect they d change their ways when things got worse One angle you could use with the Religious TV Network is how Quilting brings women together as a Community of Sisterhood Well My Porchies I m off to sleep not going to read or have tea tonight Just blissful sleep I pray DARLENE WE ARE ALL PRAYING FOR YOUR SURGERY TODAY May you find peace comfort and trust In The Great Physician today He will be right in that
