where to start I tried several all purpose cleaners window cleaners and laundry cleaners and settled on a few products that I like Although I will continue to try new things I have committed to using Seventh Generation Dishwashing liquid I like the way it cleans and smells I also like the fact that they disclose all of the ingredients they use to make the product right on the bottle I also really like the MaryJanesFarm Powdered Laundry Soap recipe I mixed up a triple batch today to have on hand With two babies in the house I tend to do a lot of laundry I like the laundry soap so much that I will check the levels again tomorrow to make sure that there is still enough in the engine after running it some more I do not need to find a place to recycle the oil I removed from the car as it will opportunities to serve families during difficult times by bringing them food cleaning their homes and caring for their children This has usually been at the time of a new birth which is always fun as it usually means getting to see the new wee one Having been the recipient of such blessings when my babies were born I am especially happy to return the favor now that mine are all grown My most recent opportunity to serve a new mom was a little different as her sons have severe allergies to wheat and other foods we gave money to help buy some GF foods that are quite expensive but make dinner easy to make with a baby in the house I have also been able to travel to Massachusettes to help care for my grandmother after she received a terminal diagnosis I cleaned her apartment and got her room ready to receive a hospital bed commode nebulizer and walker This was a difficult time for me my mom and my cousin and aunt we were all shocked at her rapid decline We lost her just a month later a blessing in many ways as she was very sick but we also had time to tell her we loved her to serve her in her illness and to prepare for losing her I returned to MA two more times to empty her apartment clean it out and close it up Together we were able to do a difficult job without any one person having to bear the whole burden From the staff at Grandma s housing we learned that not all families work so well together which made us especially grateful for one another Here is a photo that was taken at the service MaryJane Queen Bee 10657 Posts MaryJane Moscow Idaho USA 10657 Posts with my husband In putting down my thoughts during this time it has shown me how much I have to be grateful and thankful for I realize now how important the support of family and friends can be Taking because of their personal behavior or traits but because of stereotyping and ignorance It is typically the police or a faction of public works that deal with Animal Control Issues It all depends on the sort of funding available and organizational setup of each town I have the privilege of sharing my home with two pits and have opened my home to a 3rd that would have been euthanized otherwise I on this quilts so it was very time consuming It was not only getting a good piece to cut but having the finished product come out balanced with good color combinations and be pleasing to the eye This took many hours as I had to try it over and over again The jacket has 8 peices and was machine sewn with my old Kenmore machine I think of myself as a beginner because I really have not sewn other than upholstry since I was a child Reuse Recycle and Repurpose are my goals for this year Soon I will take my collection of vintage tableclothes and pillowcase out of the mothballs too I think being a beginner seamstress it turned out ok The sleeves I was going to turn up but got it wrong and had to make do I think I need to make a large covered button or a belt for if it is chilly I would like a way to keep the jacket shut This jacket is like a huge hug It is soft and warm and comforting I am glad I took the time to save it with grace and the charm it deserves MaryJane Queen Bee 10657 daily power walks that include interval training and bicycling and additional goal has been to use an elliptical machine at work on the days I have to work 10 12 hr shifts I also know that interval training is most beneficial so that my body has some consistent and regular challenges to increase the benefits Strength training is important as well for a more balanced routine DIET this also has been a lifelong and disciplined commitment to eat organic healthy foods and that is something I continue to do With getting older I have made a few changes in what I eat and when I eat LOGS my daily log includes distance time calories burned if possible intensity and intervals as it applies to the particular activity So far my 2011 goals have been met and exceeded in some instances It s a never knew that the Tennessee Walking Horse actually did originate in Tennessee So many breeds originate from other places only to be named for the place that made them famous They are a mix of 4 5 different breeds of horses and were known in the southern US as Plantation Horses since they were common on the southern plantations They were also favored by traveling preachers and doctors Who knew They can also come in a variety of colors and average 15 2 hands high Neat horse Now I want to know more about these horses called Canadian Pacers which are supposed to have been part of the Tennessee composition classes ENG 101 and ENG 102 for the University of Wisconsin Colleges UW Barron County Since students seem to have trouble with commas I often use the eats shoots and leaves example as on the cover of Truss book It s a perfect example of how important commas are and how the meaning of a sentence changes drastically if one is not careful with punctuation and grammar It takes a long time to break students of their dependence on the put a comma in where there s a pause rule Arg For every placement of punctuation there is a REASON I did not write the letter to my editor though I m hoping since my job is to teach students how to be conscientious writers that you will accept that I devote whole class periods to discussing the importance of precise communication and syntax My problem with sandwich bread is that the bread tears easily when cutting And then the latest issue of Cooks Illustrated arrived in the mail with a recipe for Whole wheat sandwich bread Hooray Hooray Finally repeat finally I have hit pay dirt The recipe is fabulous and creates a perfect loaf that slices like a dream I ve made the recipe twice now with the same results I m also grinding my own wheat berries with the grain mill attachment to the Kitchenaid for this bread Bonus the kids like my bread better than the store brands Extra Bonus the cost to make the two loaves in the recipe is a third or less of purchasing ONE loaf at the store Woo Hoo Yes I m over excited about this Turned out super duper Wouldn t change a thing Here s a link to the recipe http www cooksillustrated com Wisconsin so I m hopeful they will return this spring I ve also read The Secret Life of Bees and I ve seen the movie My favorite bit of advice comes from August when she says that bees are like people Be kind to them and they will be kind to you Swat at them and they will sting you I love August s advice and teach it to my kids when they start to freak out when a bee is near It s such a valuable life lesson with deeper meaning toward conservation as well The book is one of my favorites I think I ll netflix the movie to see the entire production I want to include a hive in my garden though we My sister has had horses for years but she doesn t live that close and I guess I took no interest in them Now that I have gained some knowledge I have had fun engaging my brother in law in horse talk I was also impressed with Camp s book and his methods of raising and keeping his horses and his no shoe approach to caring for his horses The picture attached is of two ponies one wearing the bald or white face indicative of a paint They also have 4 white feet another characteristic Paints are good for running cutting and roping My brother in law uses his paints for rounding up stray animals that rural areas of our county he knows all of the good spots where there isn t much light pollution We like to go stargazing whenever we have the chance but it s been so cold lately next time we re taking hot chocolate The five brightest objects observable from various spots in my county are the stars in Orion s belt the star Betelgeuse the star Sirius from the constellation Canis Major the star Procyon from the constellation Canis Minor and the stars Castor Pollux from the constellation Gemini I m usually observing the night sky around 11 00pm Jupiter is supposed to be visible this time of year but I haven t seen it yet I m keeping an eye out though I ll know it when I see it because it won t have the same twinkle that stars do but through this research I learned an even better way The stars always stay in the same place but the planets move After observing the night sky for several nights only the planets will be in different places While I know about purely mathematical uses for measuring degrees of arc I m still learning about the usefulness of the degrees of arc as they relate to astronomy For now I know that I can use the width of my pinky to measure 1 degree my three middle fingers together to measure 5 degrees the width of my balled fist to measure 10 degrees the distance from my extended pinky to my extended index finger to measure 15 degrees and the distance from my extended pinky to my extended thumb to measure 25 degrees I m doing my best to learn the names of all of the stars in the constellation Orion it s always been one of my favorite constellations and I d like to know more about it I wish some of the names were better than M42 and M43 Anyway it s one of the most visible in the Southern sky I m really glad that this badge was made available it
