    Horticulture Business Development Project UHBDP team the Field Project Manager will be responsible for the success of MEDA s Horticulture Business Development Project in the Odessa Mykolaiv Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions of Southern Ukraine This seven year private sector development project seeks to promote horticulture market opportunities and integrate small farmers as well as small and medium agri businesses into high value domestic and export markets The Field Project Manager coordinates and provides in country management for all UHBDP project activities including but not limited to horticultural market development facilitating value chain development post harvest handling market linkages and associated business investments and partnerships new business development liaising with project funding agencies key project implementation partners local governments and other supporting agencies managing project financial management and general administration and managing human resource components The position will also include new business development responsibilities assisting MEDA in a supportive role to network and identify new opportunities The duty station for this position will be in southern Ukraine with frequent travel between the regions identified above The position will report directly to and work in close connection with MEDA s North American N A Senior Project Manager and will act as MEDA s Country Representative in Ukraine Qualifications A minimum of ten years demonstrated experience in program management including staff management budgeting reporting monitoring and evaluation and capacity development Post graduate education in relevant disciplines business agribusiness marketing finance etc Successful experience in facilitating creating and establishing agri business value chains and supporting services e g input supply financial services supply chain logistics supply consolidation grade pack operations cold chain logistics product safety quality assurance and traceability systems Direct private sector experience in horticultural supply chain management and or investment and financing is ideal Demonstrate thorough understanding and appreciation of business decision
