  • Tri-M students share acts of kindness on ‘Pay It Forward’ day | Mohonasen Central School District, Rotterdam, NY

  • Project Lead the Way recognizes Mohonasen as one of nine original schools | Mohonasen Central School District, Rotterdam, NY
    high schools are Ballston Spa Colonie Irondequoit Rochester LaFayette Shenendehowa South Glens Falls and Westhill Syracuse We are thrilled to be a part of this group of schools who were willing to be pioneers in implementing the unique Project Lead the Way Program said Dr Kathleen Spring Superintendent of Schools The district has always been willing to take calculated risks by participating in programs that may not be considered common place traditional or standard in most circles However this willingness to have an open mind has created unique opportunities for the district and its students Project Lead the Way programs were expanded nearly a decade ago to include Draper Middle School students Our excitement for Project Lead the Way and the opportunities it offers our students has only increased over the past two decades and we look forward to many more years of the partnership said Spring PLTW now headquartered in Indianapolis Indiana originally started in Upstate New York at 12 high schools Today nine of the original 12 are still actively offering PLTW s programs in computer science engineering and biomedical science to their students and are now joined by more than 8 000 elementary middle and high schools across the country A total of 372 schools offer PLTW in New York Rochester Institute of Technology was the first PLTW affiliate university and today still trains PLTW teachers hosts PLTW conferences for teachers and administrators in the state and offers transcripted college credit to PLTW students About Us Academics Athletics Board of Education Community Student Services Featured Budget Finance Breakfast Lunch Menus Calendar Contact News Staff Resources About Us Budget Finance Calendar Contact Directions Employment Forms News Notifications Policies Publications Registration Staff Resources Academics APPR Common Core Learning Standards Continuing Education Enrichment Extracurricular Offerings Grant Programs High School Course

  • Titanic voyage serves as multifaceted lesson | Mohonasen Central School District, Rotterdam, NY
    presented a slideshow in the cafeteria Each student was given the proper ticket 1st 2nd or 3rd class and as they embarked they were seated in the appropriate section First class tables were adorned with lace tablecloths floral center pieces candelabras champagne flutes and a lavish display of first class food from the actual menus Second class tables were less elaborate and held food from second class menus and third class tables had more simple food from those menus After a time students were allowed to mingle and sample food from any of the tables Passenger slideshows were presented the rest of the morning The event ended with 8th grade orchestra students and Mrs Kondenar playing the music the ship s orchestra played as the Titanic sank The event took place on the 30th anniversary of Dr Robert Ballard s discovery of the Titanic About Us Academics Athletics Board of Education Community Student Services Featured Budget Finance Breakfast Lunch Menus Calendar Contact News Staff Resources About Us Budget Finance Calendar Contact Directions Employment Forms News Notifications Policies Publications Registration Staff Resources Academics APPR Common Core Learning Standards Continuing Education Enrichment Extracurricular Offerings Grant Programs High School Course of Study Guide

  • Hallberg receives PE Teacher of the Year award | Mohonasen Central School District, Rotterdam, NY
