    1990s MCC expanded its MOMobile services to five more sites and in 1998 formed a partnership with the YMCA of Greater Philadelphia to open the first Early Head Start Program in Philadelphia As MCC s direct service programs evolved and grew the policy program continued advocating for families at state local and national levels on issues including but not limited to national health reform mandated managed care welfare reform and health care for the uninsured Since 1995 MCC has been the Pennsylvania affiliate of the national coalition of Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies a recognized leader and resource in maternal and child health In the late 1990s M CC opened MOMobile sites in Delaware and Montgomery counties suburbs of Philadelphia In 2003 MCC was awarded a grant to operate Montgomery County s first Early Head Start program in Norristown In 2010 MCC s Early Head Start programs further expanded with a new site in Pottstown and additional families served Today MCC provides services to families in nine sites spread across Philadelphia Montgomery and Delaware counties and is Pennsylvania s largest Early Head Start provider From its earliest days MCC has recognized the need to provide targeted help for emerging maternal and child health issues In the 1990s MCC established HIV education and prevention services to address the impact HIV AIDS was having on childbearing families Since 2004 MCC s Cribs for Kids Program has provided safe sleep education and a crib to over 17 000 families MCC s Riverside MOMobile opened in 2006 offering direct services for incarcerated pregnant and newly parenting women in prison and during re entry MCC s Parenting Education group services began in 2008 serving mothers in residential treatment programs Our newest program the Children s Insurance Program will ensure that thousands of children in our region
