  • Smart 2 Pure Ultrapure water systems
ultra pure water is essential for nanomaterials synthesis as well as biological applications High contaminations or ions could give many problems during the synthesis of nanomaterials Machine safety Problem 1 Water in the storage tank is lower than 10L Remedy The water system is switch Off Switch on the water valve R O and Pump switch Wait until the storage tank has water approximately 80L After that switch on the

  • Centrifuge
Centrifuge is used to separate a solid pellet from a liquid supernatant present in a solution The centrifuge works using the sedimentation principle where the centripetal acceleration causes heavier or higher density substances to separate out along the radial direction the bottom of the centrifuge tube Due to the centripetal acceleration the solid higher density material in the solution tend to settle down at the bottom of the centrifuge tube when the centrifuge rotor spins aligning the tubes in a horizontal circle Usually the speed at which the samples are required to be centrifuged is given in revolution per minute rpm But in some cases its also given in Relative Centrifugal force RCF RCF is independent of the size of the rotor or the centrifuge Therefore its considered the standard way of expressing the speed RPM can be converted to RCF using the following formula Where r is the rotational radius or radius of the motor N is the rpm and g is earth s gravitational acceleration In the case of the lab centrifuge value of r 11 5 cm Safety 1 Make sure that the loads are balanced before a run You should not operate the centrifuge without the

glasswares disinfection of microbial cultures and for crystallizing substances hydrothermal synthesis using high temperature normally 121 C at high vapor pressures 15 lbs General Safety 1 The temperature set point should not go beyond the warning point If the pressure inside the autoclave builds up and the pressure value does not release automatically do it manually to avoid any explosion and potential casualty 2 Before using the autoclave check inside the autoclave for any items left by the previous user that could pose a hazard e g sharps biological waste 3 Clean the drain strainer before loading the autoclave 4 Individual glassware pieces should be within a heat resistant plastic tray on a shelf or rack and never placed directly on the autoclave bottom or floor 5 Make sure the door of the autoclave is fully closed latched and the correct cycle has been selected before starting the cycle 6 When the cycle is complete open the door slowly Keep your head face and hands away from the opening 7 Wear heat resistant gloves when opening the autoclave door after a cycle If there are sharps hazard e g biological waste wear heat AND cut resistant gloves 8 At a
