    gigabytes free Tags Book Review Photos Posted in HomePost Reviews Leave a Comment 2 August 18 General Meeting moving to Meetup Posted by sbaur on August 3 2015 After our July recess come join us at the August general meeting Tuesday the 18th at 7 00 p m at the Rohnert Park Senior Center as we enter our 4th decade as a Group and begin moving to Meetup Meetups are neighbors getting together to learn something do something share something just what NCMUG has been doing for years Now we are going to bebroadening our horizons by becoming a Meetup Group and reaching out to a wider range of people to expand our membership and offer more support to the digital community while staying close to our roots with the Mac and iOS platforms We will be providing information about Meetup and how it offers the opportunity to share many things NCMUG now does including meeting and SIG information announcements memberlist conversations and online membership renewal with a wider audience but still keep NCMUG a volunteer member driven group Early adopters can go to www Meetup com click on Tech and set your limits for 10 to 25 miles from where you live and find the NCMUG group or go to http www meetup com North Coast Macintosh Users Group We will no longer be supporting the lending library It is difficult to get new and up to date content for the library so Wayne and Charlie are spending way too much time andenergy moving books around that very few members are borrowing The library will be open for the last time at the August meeting and members are welcome to take home any books that they might find useful The books that remain after the meeting will be donated to the Sonoma County Library System for book sales BRING YOUR LAPTOP iPHONE or iPAD to the meeting so you can get acquainted with all the features of Meetup and how we will be using it One lucky person who attends the meeting will WIN a 50 00 gift certificate from Best Buy must be present to win Tags Internet NCMUG Posted in Announcements General Meetings HomePost Leave a Comment 0 June 16th General Meeting Self Publishing your Photos Posted by sbaur on June 9 2015 Do people still scan photos anymore I thought we were in the digital age Scanning your old photos is as easy as 1 2 3 Got digital photos on your iPad iPhone or camera and want to do use them creatively Speakers for June 16th will be Lorel Kapke describing self publishing of family photos cards and books and Francesca a Walgreen representative demonstrating store services available for making customized projects Lorel s presentation will focus on the importance of scanning and saving our pre digital old photographs between the years 1900s 1980s She bring photo books photo cards self publishing books from Apple Blurb and CreateSpace Please bring in your own examples to

    learn more about her Mac and was asked to be on the Board in 2008 Ron Deghi Director New Member Ambassador Ron was first introduced to Apple computers in 1979 when he bought an Apple IIC Portable computer A few years later he purchased his first Apple Mac computer he has never looked back Ron joined NCMUG in 2003 and volunteered for about seven years labeling sorting and mailing the club newsletters He has served on the board of directors for about 3 years serving as the Welcoming Ambassador for our new club members He looks forward to continuing to serve NCMUG and getting to know more of our members Vera Zaro Director e a n m g o Vera worked in education for a number of years where she first experienced using a Mac After being a member of NCMUG for several years she joined the board and has found it to be a privilege to work with such a fine and dedicated group She particularly enjoys the variety of SIG s and interesting speakers as well as the fact that NCMUG offers a scholarship to promising SRJC tech students Joyce Arnold Director cmug I was born and raised in Chico CA Married with three kids Retired from public service after twenty five years in 2005 I volunteer NCMUG Rebuilding Together Rohnert Park Cotati Santa Rosa Rural Cemetery Preservation Committee and a few social organizations I am a more enthusiastic than talented Apple user Jackie Morgan Director ki cmu rg I have been a drawing and painting teacher in Sonoma County and Marin since 1975 I specialize in oil painting techniques in fine art I am very proud of my students We always win many ribbons at the Sonoma county fair including a best of show at the 2014 fair I have 3 married grown children 5 grandchildren and 3 great grand children At 79 years old I still teach garden love my computer and enjoy video work I love the video sig Christian Pickman Director c st ug g Born in the heart of silicon valley Christian Pickman started his career in computers back in middle school learning BASIC programming on an Apple IIe While in high school he got a his first Macintosh and it s been his computer of choice ever since After graduating from Sonoma State University he was a computer consultant and in 1996 started his tenure with Micromat Incorporated the makers of TechTool Pro and other Macintosh diagnostic software Between 2001 and 2004 he was a radio producer at CNET for Inside Mac radio show Christian has been a member of NCMUG for many years and is the new leader of the Intermediate SIG Trudy Powers Director nc rg Trudy s careers included medical technology residential construction dairy farming in Michigan and teaching in Vietnam She started using Macs when her 3 children were in grade school She has worked in the field of education for many years and has taught language computer
