  • New Jersey State Society, Daughters of the American Revolution
    chapters located throughout the state If you can trace your lineage to a patriot of the American Revolution we would be honored to have you become a member of the New Jersey State Society Daughters of the American Revolution We invite you to learn more about the DAR by visiting a chapter in your area and by viewing a series of videos on YouTube celebrating our organization s historic preservation educational and patriotic work These videos provide a brief introduction to the work of Today s DAR and will introduce you to some of the dynamic women who are part of our extraordinary service organization More than fifteen videos on the DAR are featured on YouTube with plans to add more as they become available Information on Today s DAR is available on Facebook as well In addition to information about the society you will find photos of DAR Memorial Continental Hall and our museum including period museum rooms and current exhibits Photographs of recent events are included as well as speakers for the most recent annual Continental Congress Cornelia Ball Olde New Jersey State Regent Daughters of the American Revolution Objectives of the Society Historic Preservation Education and Patriotism

    Many articles in the house have been donated by New Jersey Daughters The New Jersey DAR sponsors one of the period rooms in Memorial Continental Hall at NSDAR headquarters in Washington D C The New Jersey Room was installed prior to 1911 and is modeled on an ancient room from the City of London The Paneling and furniture for the room were carved from oak timbers salvaged from the British

  • Becoming a DAR Member
    of age and can prove lineal blood line descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American Independence A complete list of eligibility information is available on the NSDAR Become A Member Page If you believe you have a patriot in your family tree or have located an ancestor who was a Revolutionary patriot the registrar of a chapter in your area can help you complete your research and your membership application Beginning your research The DAR Genealogical Reseach System GRS on the DAR web site is a new and outstanding resource The GRS is a combination of several extensive genealogical databases and contains names of Revolutionary patriots both men and women whose service between 1775 and 1783 has been established by the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution Additional information available may include dates and places of birth and death name s of wife wives or husband s and children rank type of service and the state where the patriot lived or served Please remember that not every Revolutionary patriot is included in this list but only those who are ancestors of DAR members A recent addition to the GRS is the ability to order and download copies
