  • 'Listaleypurin' – the cultural rucksack in the Faeroe Islands — Valhalla
    nordiske landene Nyhetsarkiv 2016 2015 2014 2013 2012 2011 2010 2009 2008 2007 2006 2005 2004 Info Listaleypurin the cultural rucksack in the Faeroe Islands The three year pilot project Listaleypurin has started its second year and comprises 55 school visits throughout the school year 2008 09 All the large municipalities and most of the smaller ones have decided to join the project School visits performances exhibitions and lectures are free for schools as the expenses are shared by the Ministry of Culture the Nordic House in the Faeroe Islands and municipalities It is up to the schools to decide what activities they would like to have and the coordinators of the project prepare schedules of tours and handle preliminary contacts with schools and evaluation Listaleypurin0809 The brochure for 08 09 was sent out on the 1st of September and 75 of the school visits were booked within a couple of weeks The projects for the youngest classes tend to be booked first whereas the projects for upper classes have a lower response rate The demand for theatre and music projects is also bigger compared to visual arts Listaleypurin is working hard to involve the Teachers Training College and the

    Kunst kultur og skole i de nordiske landene Nyhetsarkiv 2016 2015 2014 2013 2012 2011 2010 2009 2008 2007 2006 2005 2004 Info Draugar úti í mýri International children s literature festival in Reykjavik Draugar úti í mýri an international children s literature festival was held in Reykjavik on the 19th 23rd of September The festival is organised every second year and this year its theme was ghost stories The hall was filled to capacity when the head of the Nordic House Max Dager opened the festival on Saturday This spring a competition for the best Icelandic ghost story was held and the stories by the winners have been published as a book entitled At og aðrar sögur The winner of the first prize is Guðmundur Brynjólfsson and he received his award at the opening ceremony At the weekend Kim Fupz Aakeson Louis Jensen Ritva Toivola Ingunn Aamodt Ulf Nilsson and other authors read excerpts from their books however there were two ghosts sneaking about and disturbing the guests now and then The goal of the festival was to reach children in the age group of 9 to 12 years On Monday and Tuesday the authors visited schools in Reykjavik

    2009 2008 2007 2006 2005 2004 Info Film week in the Nordic House in the Faeroe Islands In the second week of October the Nordic House in the Faeroe Islands will open the door for the Nordic film enthusiasts The project entitled The Nordic Film Week 2008 is going to offer an extensive programme of Nordic films on the 11th 18th of October During the Film Week in the Faeroe Islands one will be able to watch films from all the Nordic countries and meet some of the directors and producers who are going to talk about their films One of them is Anne W ivel who is going to talk about her controversial prize documentary about Greenland Menneskenes Land and one of the producers of the Icelandic feature film Mýrinn is going to speak about the process of making the film The festival will be opened with the Faeroese short film Mit Rum directed and produced by the young film director Heiðrik av Heygum and concluded with a documentary Tóroddur en linje om dagen må være nok by the prize winning Faeroese film director Katrin Óttarsdóttir Each of the Nordic countries has its own day during the film week

    Nyhetsarkiv 2016 2015 2014 2013 2012 2011 2010 2009 2008 2007 2006 2005 2004 Info Book packages for children in socially vulnerable residential areas in Denmark Bogstart is a programme in the framework of which the local libraries promote children s books among the households with children aged from 0 to 4 years and their parents in socially vulnerable residential areas in Denmark This should stimulate the children s linguistic skills and encourage parents and children to read and share their literary experiences The programme still in its initial phase has proven a considerable success 15 municipalities have been invited to join Bogstart and at the moment they have to confirm their participation whereas a big number of Danish publishing houses are submitting their suggestions for books CDs and other material Throughout September 2008 a book jury consisting of scholars and librarians has to select the material for the four book packages from the submitted suggestions In addition to books and CDs the book packages are going to contain instructions about reading and language as well as lists of books and tips on additional reading At the same time the kids are going to be provided with various gadgets that
