    Info Financial legislation guarantees means for children s and youth culture Four year agreement on culture provides a proper framework for new development work including the field of children s culture By Monica Hassel The Danish government has concluded a broad political agreement in the field of culture for the four coming years which inter alia means that children s and youth culture will be given almost 60 million DKK extra in support The extra amount of money will be used to expand the existing Artist in residence Scheme administered by the Danish Arts Council to develop the talents in music schools and experiment with the existing culture schools and the so called basic courses in visual art The financial agreement was concluded at the end of October and so far it is hard to tell how exactly the money will be used When it comes to the Artist in residence Scheme and the talent development programme it is actually a question of expanding of and long term guarantees for the existing programmes The experiments with art schools where more forms of art and not only music could be developed as well as with basic courses in visual art are

    2014 2013 2012 2011 2010 2009 2008 2007 2006 2005 2004 Info Co operation on children and culture issues between three ministries New co operation between three ministries is paving the way for cross sector co operation on children issues in the municipalities By Monica Hassel The Network for Children and Culture that acts as the advisory body on issues related to children and culture to the Ministry of Culture has been extended and now has two members from two other ministries the Ministry of Education and the Ministry for Family and Consumer Affairs Thus the Network has been given an essential support in its work to improve the conditions for culture for with and of children also in terms of the time of establishing this co operation Denmark is changing the entire municipal system and the municipal reform gives an excellent opportunity to develop new local partnerships and co operation in opposition to what is offered to children by schools and cultural institutions in terms of daytime and leisure activities In this case a strong interministerial co operation could pave the way One of the tasks of the Network for Children and Culture is stimulating the development in the
