    November 16 2015 This Fall Anthony J Bellitto Jr P E Executive Director of the North Penn Water Authority NPWA recognized Owen Kratz of Lansdale for 60 years of dedicated service to providing the North Penn region with safe reliable and economical drinking water Kratz is currently the longest serving NPWA employee In 1955 Kratz began working for Lansdale Municipal Authority until NPWA bought the Lansdale water system in 1965 While at NPWA Kratz performed several jobs such as printing bills reading meters collecting payments and maintaining the pump stations as Pump Supervisor until 1994 when he started working on a part time basis Owen s long career and dedication to his work is truly admirable and it s people like him who we are proud to employ here at NPWA said Anthony Bellitto Jr P E executive director of NPWA We are fortunate to have Owen on our staff 2015 marks NPWA s 50 th anniversary They invited the community to an Open House event in September to celebrate this momentous occasion A video of highlights from the last 50 years can be found at http bit ly 1kMKV39 About North Penn Water Authority Established in 1965 North Penn Water Authority NPWA is a municipally owned nonprofit Authority with a dedicated professional workforce committed to providing the community with a safe reliable and economical water supply Water supplied to their customers comes from both a surface water supply that is treated at the state of the art Forest Park Water Treatment Plant FPWTP and from 17 groundwater wells located throughout the service area To provide the highest quality water the Authority has in place a main replacement program and performs annual flushing of its 567 miles of water main which serves their 33 500 customers NPWA also owns and

    Contact Us Public Notification Contact Emergency Information Customer Corner Links More News Back To News List NPWA Annual Fire Hydrant Inspection and Flushing Program Scheduled March 31 2016 Lansdale Pa March 31 2016 During the week of April 3 2016 the North Penn Water Authority NPWA will commence its annual fire hydrant inspection and flushing program which runs through May 22 Annual inspection and flushing of fire hydrants increase public safety by ensuring that hydrants will function when called upon in the case of a fire Flushing of hydrants also improves water quality by removing the build up of materials from the inside of water distribution pipes The Authority is dedicated to providing all of our customers with quality drinking water and reliable fire protection which is why NPWA inspects and flushes all of the fire hydrants in our distribution system every year said Anthony J Bellitto Jr Executive Director of North Penn Water Authority Flushing will take place at night between the hours of 8 00 p m and 4 00 a m and during the day between the hours of 8 00 a m and 3 00 p m The following is a tentative flushing schedule April 3 through April 20 Lansdale Hatfield and New Britain Boroughs Hatfield and New Britain Townships April 20 through May 15 Skippack Worcester Lower Salford Franconia Salford and Towamencin Townships May 8 through May 22 Sellersville Borough May 15 through May 22 Souderton Borough Hilltown and East Rockhill Townships If water discoloration occurs customers should run the cold water for a few minutes If the water does not clear up customers should turn the tap off for 10 to 20 minutes and then run the water again for a few minutes Customers who experience persistent discolored water or reductions in water pressure

    Resources Games In the Classroom School Projects Educational Links Chad A Shad Water Cycle Contact Us Contact Us Public Notification Contact Emergency Information Customer Corner Links News In the Community Newsletters Press Releases Photos Water Improvement Projects Project Updates Project Photos Environmental Stewardship Water improvement projects The Authority has an active Capital Investment Program that is designed to provide continuous improvement to the water delivery system to our customers This program is a direct result of our Water Master Plan This planning document provides a blueprint for capital investment in our system which structures planned expenditures for timely and efficient execution within the framework of our overall financial plan The hydraulic model is utilized as part of this process in evaluating alternatives to optimize the planning of system improvements In 2015 the Authority completed numerous active projects throughout our service area Overall the Authority will spend approximately 10 million dollars over 297 per customer in direct investment into our water system in 2015 Also construction began on the 1 2 million dollar Forest Park Transfer Station in New Britain Township This facility when completed will allow for transmission main redundancy from our Forest Park Water Treatment Plant significantly enhancing reliability
