    of the feed in tariff program and environmental regulations have not yet been determined Defining processes and standards that will apply to only one LDC align more with the previous paradigm rather than the new paradigm envisioned by the Green Energy Act OSEA states in a letter to Hydro One Energy Board hearing into 20 year energy plan OSEA in co operation with other environmental organizations presented evidence at the Energy Board s hearings into Ontario s 20 year electricity plan arguing for more renewable energy and less dependence on nuclear power In response the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure in September 2008 directed the Ontario Power Authority responsible for generating electricity to review and fine tune its energy plan to ensure Ontario is maximizing its potential to provide clean green renewable power to homes and businesses across the province and a new generation of green collar careers and industry Hydro One s request for exemption OSEA is objecting to Hydro One s application to the Ontario Energy Board for an exemption from the timelines laid out in the distribution system code for meeting with a person considering applying for the connection of a generation facility to the distributors system providing information relating to the distribution system that is relevant the person s generation facility and assessing the impact of connection to the electricity grid Hydro One says that it requires the 12 month exemption because it does not have the resources to deal with the increase in applications for connection to its grid within the timelines specified Currently it takes approximately five months to complete a customer impact assessment while the code requires it to be completed within two or three months depending on the size of the generator However the Energy Board decided it lacked information about how
