  • OSEA: FIT Review: Help shape Ontario's green energy system
    process making a submission Everyone needs to contact their MPPs local municipal leaders and the agencies involved in the processes A unified and focused voice It is clear that we need to identify the key issues and recommendations that we can collectively advance while noting secondary considerations related to different interests now and in the future Different people and proponents will have pet issues We need to find the key kernels that unite and make a clear case for community and commercial power while demonstrating the benefit of our recommendations to all Ontarians OSEA s membership friends and partners include aboriginal and non aboriginal communities commercial developers manufacturers unions financers environmental groups and individual conserver and renewable energy champions who believe in a more sustainable energy system Together we can speak with a unified voice on topics of mutual interest while respecting those interests of our allies that diverge Your story is key Your personal story is as important as your recommendation How has the current process impacted you What type of future are you and your colleagues and neighbours working toward As a rate payer and resident of Ontario what do you expect from your leaders and government As a conserver and generator of clean green sustainable energy what reforms do you think need to be made OSEA s Draft and Webinar November 25 2011 OSEA will issue its draft report for your review and feedback by the 25 th of November Your Feedback November 30 2011 We would like to receive your feedback and suggestions by November 30 th so that we can pull together the material for you by the following week If you have other suggestions or input afterwards please feel free to send us your thoughts Where can you send your feedback for OSEA You can send us your input either by visiting the OSEA website and using the online form or by sending an email to info ontario sea org If you have ideas that you want us to consider for the first draft send them now and we will do our best to review them OSEA s Final Submission December 7 2011 Utilizing your input we will post OSEA s final submission along with support resources for your use including a template letter the core asks relating to the sector and for Community Power The OPA s final submission date December 14 2011 the Ministry of Energy s FIT review online survey and submissions end December 14 th Be sure to get your submission in before this date FIT Questions Taken from the Ontario Power Authority s website FIT QUESTION 1 Protecting Ratepayers and Encouraging Investment Ontario s renewable energy Feed in Tariff FIT program has been very successful It has positioned Ontario as a leader in clean energy and has successfully attracted private sector investment to the province The FIT Program was launched in 2009 and has a built in review every two years The purpose of the Review is to ensure
